Omallley said:A complete non-sequitur: I can remember Pierre McGuire going on at the draft that Blue Jackets had made a terrible choice - he was too "safe" and the home town fans (it was held in Colunbus in 2007) deserved better - I think he was plugging Hamil and Cherepanov instead...

What Columbus gave up and then got in return for Carter has to be a pretty huge tradedown. I'd rank Voracek ahead of Johnson in value and I'd certainly take Couturier over LA's 1st.
I'd rather Voracek/Couturier over Carter as well.
Philly came out ahead big time in that deal (as did LA for that matter)
