Game 23: Devils @ Leafs - Mar. 4th, 7:00PM - SN, Fan 590

Brilliant Randy. Get the fourth line out there.

The entire team looks slow and off tonight.  Same as they have for a lot of games, minus a few performers.

Man! I read a couple articles online and come back to the game and all of a sudden they are losing. What gives? :(

Dumb penalty by McLaren on his 1st shift.  Carlyle inexplicably puts them out for a defensive zone draw (unless it was icing? But don't think it was), lose it and both forwards get embarrassed by 1 defenceman.  Puts them out for the ensuing draw! Then plays them AGAIN and they get scored on.

Brilliant.

It hasn't been all bad, but yeah overall the ice looks tilted.  Kessel had a couple of chances to widen the lead but he's stone cold.

Ya I don't know what it is and it's mainly at home. No excuse after 3 days rest. At home with Brodeur hurt and we sh*t the bed again. 7 shots halfway through the game with 2 power plays

He's had some real nice saves off Kessel and Kadri this period.

I was going to comment on Kessel earlier, but yeah he simply isn't doing what he has to do on his chances. It isn't even a matter of hitting the post anymore.  He's channeling obvious shots and getting blocked over and over.  He's got to be more creative than he'e being.

The first line as a whole has been pretty rotten for a while now.  Their lack of production simply isn't acceptable, given their defensive issues.

Kadri is 9-12 / 75% in the faceoff circle tonight, if Carlyle is ever going to pull the trigger and put him on the top line he should do it now?

It's worth a look, at this point.

Kessel's probably had just as good of chances to score tonight as anyone on any of the other lines, Kadri's had the bounce go for him but Kessel's been one of the few tonight to regularly gain the zone with possession tonight and get chances.
