Game 25: Leafs @ Bruins - Mar. 7th, 7:00PM - TSN, TSN 1050

I hate the Bruins too but I'm not sure how much we're going to be able to bring physically tonight. We're not rested. McLaren's face is a little beat up from the fight and a high stick. I might be inclined to dress Steckel/Frattin (if available) in favour of Orr/McLaren. Maybe get Kadri and Komorov in full "chirp" mode and let them take stupid penalties.

They just had three days off before last night's game. I think they're rested.

Scratch that, forgot about Monday

Another great Game Day post, CTB.  Thank you!

Not meant as a criticism in any way: you're still including Savard on Boston's injured list?

I just don't see how the Leafs win this one.  Boston was home and waiting for the Leafs last night.  They have lost the last two games, with the game against the Caps blowing a three-goal lead.  They will be pissed and take it out on the Leafs.

The Leafs' team defence has been steadily deteriorating and that means bad news for tonight.  They seem to get very few scoring chances against the B's.  I hope I am wrong, but I think they may be in for a beatdown.  5 - 1 Bruins.

I don't mind the back to back games if the team you're playing against is also coming into a back to back, but with Boston sitting around waiting and the Leafs traveling..yeah it could get ugly.

It is Boston's 4th game in 6 nights though, could be some tired legs there as well.

I honestly think Carlyle should insert both Liles and Komi into the line-up and rest any 2 of Holzer, Kostka, Gunnar, Fraser... all of whom looked tired and slow last night.

Playing their 3rd game in 4 nights they should try to get any fresh legs into the lineup that they can.... and I dont care about breaking up a winning line-up.... they looked real sloppy at times last night

Just a formality really, he's still shows up on all the injury lists online. He hasn't officially retired yet has he?

Yeah I agree here. You've got lots of extra NHL capable D, why not use them? Especially on back to back nights.

I highly doubt it, or he wouldn't be getting paid.

A loss to Boston wouldn't necessarily be the worst thing in the world. It could avoid a Leafs-Bruins 1st round match up.

Dude, it is halfway thru the season....  lets worry about getting the points and securing a playoff spot before thinking about the match up

Given the Leafs recent defensive lapses i'm going to have say Bruins 5-2 tonight.

I really hope the Bruins take the Leafs lightly tonight.

That's their only hope, unless they play defense like they did against Pittsburgh and Boston the last time.

The flip side is that I hope the Leafs don't figure they've got a built-in excuse to mail it in tonight and concede the loss.

I think the role players have to be the difference makers tonight if there's any chance of winning.  Komarov, McClement, Fraser.  I can also see Phaneuf having a chance to be either hero or goat in this one.
