I'm guessing every night you can find players ending streaks.

I'm not denying this... I'm just saying it happens with greater frequency against us than other team.  You can take this one to the bank dude!

You're saying this, but you're not proving it, so why should I believe it to be true?  Listing Keith Aucoin, for example - he scored a goal against us in his 3rd game of the season.  Not the 1st of his career.  3 games into a season.  Why is that relevant to anything?

Dates back to last year.  Something like his first goal in 13 NHL games or whatever (I don't remember exactly).  Maybe he's not the best example, but care to pick at the rest?  I don't see any other questionable ones.

I hear Joe Bowen say "His first goal in XX amount of games" with GREAT regularity against us.  Happened twice again last night.  Will happen either tomorrow or Saturday again for sure.

At least I'm providing some examples.  Quite a few actually.  In ~25 games I've probably listed 12-13 guys who've scored after prolonged slumps.

You're just saying, "meh, you can't prove it so move along."

I remember enough occurrences of this to have it bother me as well.  Maybe it's a case of players being more "up" for games against the Leafs?  Give it that extra effort?  Who knows.

Because you're not comparing it to any other teams, so how am I to form an opinion on whether or not it is something that happens more to the Leafs or not?  You're just listing a bunch of slumps that ended (and not listing any slumps that DIDN'T end against the Leafs) with no context, and assuming that because all of these things have happened a lot of times (in your eyes) that it means it is significant.

How can you say it is something that happens significantly more to the Leafs if you haven't provided any evidence of its occurrence to other teams?

Burkes team needs Gardiner and Lupul back to help make the difference. Reimer was injured and is showing rust. Yes they need to find a way to win and they will.

What an awful game.

Does anyone know why Jets fans boo Kessel and Phaneuf? I don't understand what kind of history they think they have with them.

Every time the Jets fans boo the star players of the other teams, I yell at the, " are you jealous you don't have players of that calibre?"

It is really annoying. I'm wearing a Bruins jersey to the next game if I can borrow my cousins B's jersey, if not, I'm wearing a Saskatchewan rough riders jersey!

Phaneuf a star player??? Now that is funny!

It really looks like teams are adapting to Toronto's style. Instead of engaging them physically, teams are using speed and quick passing/transitions to exploit the slower, sluggish Toronto defenders. Montreal learned this after their pasting; Ottawa has completely dominated the previous two meetings (granted, while winning only one of those) and Winnipeg made them look silly last night.

Leafs need some fast, puck moving defencemen on the back end and they have to quit dressing two enforcers and start putting some quality depth players on the ice. (Where's Hamilton? He is a tough winger who has 25 goals in 50 games with the Marlies). Who knows how much any of this will help but it just seems crazy to be putting all those lumbering players on the ice and giving less time to the more talented, useful ones.

The latter part of the season -- gearing toward teams vying for the post-season -- almost always sees many teams tighten up their defence, read the opposition better, exploit the weaknesses of their opponent, etc., etc.

It's up to the team (the Leafs) in this case, to change some tenets of their game as per whoever their playing against, and not become such or so predictable.

Goaltending needs to continue to be solid, defence more agile, and the offence needs a little more flexibility.  Everyone needs to pitch in, so to speak, and play better as a whole.

So far though, so good for the Leafs.  Every team goes into slumps but what worries the LeafNation is that it is hoped that this slump doesn't become a long slide downhill (as happened in previous seasons).  A win or two in a row will break it solidly.

GO LEAFS GO!!
