When it comes to anti-Thatcher songs I've always preferred "Between the Wars" to "Shipbuilding".

What a fantastic song. Got to hear Daniel Greaves sing an a cappella version of Between the Wars during a break in a Watchmen concert. It was absolutely captivating.

Let's have a party since Maggie is dead!

Go Leafs Go

I like to think that Billy Bragg is a Leafs fan at heart.

I think you mean Elvis Costello

As long as I ain't gonna work on Maggie's farm no more.

(And, yes, I know it pre-dates Thatcher, but, still...)

There was a version done and released with altered lyrics to reflect Thatcher though.  Forget the name of the band that did it...

There's a great youtube clip of Bragg performing it live on, of all things, Top of the Pops. Worth a watch.

I figured there probably was. It's too perfect a song for there not to have been.

two posts...but over all i liked how the leafs came out in that period..i was afraid they'd get stuck in their own zone more..New York has some big guys...was also glad we killed that first penalty..with how hot they've been lately

Thanks man, that was awesome.  No tears from me for Thatcher.

The impact of it isn't as pronounced because he's still scoring points but Kessel is going through another one of his stretches where he just can't buy one.

Maybe it's just me, but after watching the replay there twice I didn't really see Kessel offside on that play.  He came into the zone with the puck and his skate seed to be on the line when the puck was in the zone.

What's Millen jibber-jabbering about? Grabovski taking extra time is why the play failed? Maybe it's just me, but the puck jumping over his stick might have had something to do with it, too. Just spit-ballin'.
