Game 41: Canadiens @ Leafs - Apr. 13, 7:00PM - CBC, TSN 1050

I love pounding those pukes.

The shine is a little tarnished by those dicks at CBC not giving them their fare due.

I'm pretty sick of the constant shots the CBC broadcast team take at the Leafs.

If the Habs can get Bob Cole calling their HNIC games, I want Joe Bowen calling ours.

23-13-5, man that is a nice record. Would be the official half way point of an 82 game season and if you pro rate it, your looking at 102 points.

Great win tonight.  It makes me smile. :D

Crowd seemed a bit quiet though. If the Leafs keep this up, and I hope they do, I would like to see some wild and crazy fans just like the old days. Like the shot of the guy in Sittler and MacDonald masks. I can understand that it will take some time though. It's been a while and it's not over yet! Glad this much needed game went the way it did.

Honestly, what has made Glen Healy so obnoxiously, rediculously bitter towards the Leafs? I don't remember him this snarky years ago but maybe I just didn't notice. At this point I would have Joe Bowen or even one of the Punjabi guys replace him. Sure I don't know the language (at all), but I'm watching the Oilers/Flames game and they sound much more pleasant.  :)

I almost hope those guys keep trashing the Leafs left, right, and centre. And if the Leafs keep winning, it just show them up for who they are. Go Leafs!

I like Weekes in his role. Maybe I'm wrong but he sounds the most professional in the group. Media seems to suit him like a glove.

Loved the salute to the fans at the end.  8)

Healy wanted the Leafs gm job a few years ago and seemed bitter towards the team after not getting it.

Interesting seeing Price get chased after only i dunno 5 shots on net.
Wow. That was 3-0 in a matter of 10 minutes.

Impressive. I like the fight. I like the tenacity of this crop of guys.
The Leafs have something happening here.
Kadri is amazing. Reimer is looking solid.
And Kessell - Van D are getting it together.
Looks like Grabovski is gonna shine soon, he's due to break out.

Thank you for that tidbit Zee. I seem to remember something about that now from a few years back. As if he'd feel entitled to such a job.

On another note, I hope that somewhere Brian Burke knows just how thankful Leafs fans are about the team he built here. I'm not hailing him as a God or anything. I know it was his job at the time. But many great players that he brought here are starting to shine and I really hope that it continues. It's sad that he was fired in the manner that he was. I also admired the work he did with the community and the LGTBQ issues in sports he mildly addressed (had a lot to do with his son but still great). Thank you Mr. Burke.

this game was over before it was started...i was a slight bit torn because i wanted this game to be a good one..so kind of a let down that price couldn't stop a beachball.  I'm more than okay with him playing like that in the playoffs though.

as much as i dislike healy i don't think he really has anything against the leafs...i've listened to him in games that don't involve the leafs..he's always snide and sarcastic about players..and more often points out faults ...which of course..for anyone that saw him play..just boggles the mind.  i sometimes feel like they just go with the team with the higher points and create the narrative around that ...

also in the past i've checked out opposing messages boards after we win ..(i get pleasure in other people's pain, what can i say?) and they often complain about the bias of announcers in the other direction..so i think some of it is confirmation

despite all that ..i cannot stress enough how much healy sucks.

It really does seem as if the leafs match up well against this habs team...playoffs are a different animal ..but of course we'd have to be insane to rather a first round against boston.....but i doubt the habs would be a cakewalk...

Edit:  one thought though ..goalies have bad games..and this loss won't mean much to the habs over all...but the thing i really wouldn't like about this game if i were a habs fan ...was not how poor price played...or even their inability to score more than one goal... it would be how against the habs..kadri looks intimidating ....  now i like kadri...and he plays tough for his size...but still..he doesn't lay people out

Kadri on Price...
?He?s one of the best goalies in the league,? said Kadri. ?He?s stood on his head all year for that team.?

On his feistiness...
?I didn?t think I was getting a couple of touches early so I just played the body as often as I could,? said Kadri. ?Fortunately, I was able to come up with a couple of pretty big hits and I felt like I got the boys going.?

GO LEAFS GO!!!

I think  we could lay a beaten on this team if we meet them in the playoffs. No one responded to Kadri's lickens

I think we could wear out the Bruins as well. this team is hard nosed, just like Burke wanted it to be. Like I said in another post, I don't think anyone would be looking forward to playing us.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed or not but about 3 weeks sgo all of a sudden Ron MacLean and Don Cherry have switched sides on Coaches Corner,  What could this possibly be about.  Anyone have any insight? Just curious.

Easier access for when they come to take Don back to the asylum, I think.

Ya....... now that you mention it, that is weird.

I think Don decided he wanted to sit in the "host's chair" instead of the "guest's chair", and claim it as his segment, uh, more than the intro already does. Now he has a much better vantage point from which to criticize players for excessive showboating...

I noticed he was developing some bad skin irritation on his temple area that when he traditionally turned to face MacLean, it was obvious.  Maybe moving to the other side of him revealed it less.
I think they have been struggling to keep him looking young with makeup.  At his age, it must be getting more difficult.
Anyway, that's my theory.
