David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 31m
#leafs D Pairs: Gunnarsson-Phaneuf, Liles-O'Byrne, Fraser-Franson, Gardiner-Kostka.

David Alter ‏@DavidAlter590 31m
#leafs lines: JVR-Bozak-Kessel, Lupul-Kadri-Kulemin, McClement-Grabovski-Komarov, MacArthur-Colborne-Frattin, McLaren-Hamilton-Orr

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 18m
Tough to read into Carlyle's lines off morning skate but MacArthur + Frattin with Colborne right now. Other line: Hamilton centring fighters

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 4m
Carlyle chats with colborne, frattin and macarthur at end of practice....looks like they maybe sitting. #tmltalk

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 1m
Hard to dissemble meaning, but Carlyle just spoke with MacArthur, Frattin and Colborne. Unclear if trio play tonight.

I presume that's in place of McLaren-Hamiltojn-Orr

Which surprises me some because Tampa is 5th in fights with the Leafs a runaway first place

Further to the above:

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 41m
Orr, mclaren, hamilton, kostka and gardiner are projected scratches tonight in tampa. #tmltalk

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 41m
Carlyle wouldn't confirm but Colborne, Frattin and MacArthur all look to be in tonight.

Terry Koshan ‏@koshtorontosun 42m
MacArthur, asked if he is playing tonight: "I think so." Carlyle would not say. #Leafs

Chris Johnston ‏@reporterchris 2h
The #TBLightning won't play Ryan Malone tonight.

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 1h
Carlyle hints he'll use all 25 players over the final three games.

Paul Hendrick ‏@HennyTweets 56m
Bozak and mclaren caught a 6 foot shark in the gulf yesterday. 1st leafs to land one since antropov and poni's hammerhead in 2002

The Colborne 4th line is exactly what should be happening these last 3 games.  Having performed their goonery to the best of their ability, I trust Orr and MacLaren will be relegated to the pressbox from here on out, there to keep silent vigil as they wait to have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup.

:D :D we can only hope.

Rest Lupul to avoid injury.

That is all.

really if he's that fragile i think we're doomed anyway...i don't want to lose lupul ..but at the same time i think the last thing this guy needs more of this season is rest ...assuming that he isn't suffering any kind of concussion symptoms and is back to par ...i think he could use the playing time

I know this is just a flight of fancy but I thought only players that play in the playoffs get their name on the cup.

Think its playing in 1 SCF game or half the regular season games.

That's basically it. Officially, it's 41 games or 1 SCF game, but exceptions can be made for exceptional circumstances (injuries, etc). It's also important to point out that this means being in the lineup for those games, not necessarily seeing any ice time - so backup goalies qualify pretty easily. I imagine the league will lessen the regular season requirement for this season.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 5h
Carlyle did say it was important to keep the entire roster sharp in case lesser used players were needed at some point in the future.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 10m
John-Michael Liles not on the ice for pre-game warmups. Appears he'll be out as Carlyle looks to keep others (Gardiner perhaps) sharp.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 3m
Projected Lines vs. TB: JVR-Bozak-Kessel. Lupul-Kadri-Kulemin. McClement-Grabovski-Komarov. MacArthur-Colborne-Frattin.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 3m
D: Gunnarsson-Phaneuf. Fraser-Franson. Kostka-O'Byrne. Reimer starts.

Jonas Siegel ‏@jonasTSN1050 2m
Thus, Kostka, Frattin, Colborne appear to replace Orr, McLaren and Liles.

Best case scenario for Leafs could see them leading the Northeast after tomorrow's game. Not likely - but possible.

I'm still pinching myself that such a statement could be made at this time of year

I know. It's crazy, but, man, wouldn't that be something - miss the playoffs for so long and then win the division their first season back in the dance.

Liles out O'Byrne in? I really hope that's just a case of Carlyle giving O'Byrne more games to get used to the system.

Check that - Leafs can move into a tie for points with both Montreal and Boston but Bruins will hold tiebreak having played fewer games.

It would be crazy given I thought they'd have a fight to make the playoffs this year.

Right now, they only have a 5% chance of winning the division. But that's up from 2% recently and if they win tonight, it will climb significantly. If they win out, they have a 22% chance of winning the division.

So their chances of pulling it off are not that hot. But the fact we can even converse about such a thing at this point in this season is still kind of shocking to me.

For the scoreboard watchers, the Wings-Kings game is an important one for the Wings to keep their playoff berth hopes up.
