Game 50: Leafs @ Pens, 7:00pm

It's really enjoyable on Gamecenter Live listening to Ray Ferraro between breaks.

"Paul Martin is terrible."
He is talking a lot of smack about a bunch of guys, I be he wouldn't do it in person.  Funny at times though.

What a defensive effort by an exhausted group there in the final minute and a half.

As an aside, those stuck watching the Pittsburgh feed...man are they awful.

we got to the third with a lead. ....i know one of these times they won't be able to do it ...but this is what the leafs are good at ...  the pens still haven't seemed to find a way to be able to shut down our counter attack ...i like where we're at ..though how nice would it to be to have that goal they scored in the first

sorry I'm late, I was at work, just got home a little while ago:

Man this 3rd period worries me. Leafs have played great but should have finished more (although that first goal should have counted). This one goal lead is one breakdown away from letting this game slip away.

I hope the Leafs don't sit back on this lead in the third, keep pressing even if you have to trade goals here.  Feel confident with Gus though, looks good again tonight.

great game for the leafs in every respect but the scoreboard ...the penguins really haven't had an answer for the leaf's counterattack ..leafs have been able to generate a lot of chances off the rush.  where the penguins have had to get their chances with sustained pressure.

As you say, in reality it should be 3-1.  So technically they have finished 3 times already, hit the post a couple more times.  The reality is, against a pretty darn good goaltender, even if your team is firing on all cylinders it is going to be hard to put more than 3 past him in 40 minutes.

At least it's not from lack of effort.

Leafs are flying, one of their best games of the season.  Grabs, Kessel and Lups look great.  Kadri with a monster hit on Martin behind the goal.  Gus solid when tested.

Pens analyst just told Jim Ralph this is the best Leafs team he's seen for years, and that they should be up 5-1.  But then noted how the Leafs haven't put the Pens away....

Oh I know but it would be a tough pill to swallow if they lost this after how they've played the first 40 minutes.
