Game 6 - Toronto Maple Leafs @ Boston Bruins L6-2

Maybe I'll open my big mouth like I did during the Calgary game and say there is NO WAY they get 3 past Thomas in the 3rd

Hopefully they can get 2 in the 3rd and 1 one in OT.

I think the schedule makers did this on purpose: Let us get a nice 4-0-1 start like last year and then dump a whole bunch of good teams for road games on us in a short amount of time.  See how much we squirm.

I had to miss most of the 2nd but it sounds like Gus held the fort -- and Thomas was Thomas.

Kulemin and Grabovski don't seem to be on the same page the way they were last season.

It's true. I'm not sure why.

I'm hoping it's just some rust or a result of them putting too much pressure on themselves right now, but, I'm starting to get a little concerned that it's more than that or something they won't shake off so easily.

Liles honestly shoots a bit too much.  He could take a page out of Kaberle's book and try to set up a better chance sometimes.

Last 3 seasons:

Kaberle:

GP 221  G 15  A 104  PTS 127  SHTS 381  SH% 3.9

Liles:

GP 210  G 24  A 92  PTS 116  SHTS 405  SH% 6.06

FWIW, I'm not sure your observation holds water. Kaberle has an advantage in PPG of .02 (.57 vs .55) but a worse SH%. Maybe you haven't seen enough of Liles to judge yet.

EDIT: Liles shot on average .2 times per game more than Kaberle.

I'm probably reaching for something but they both hit the weights hard this summer, right? Maybe something to do with that?

Just got back with a few minutes left in the 2nd period and it seemed like a pretty balanced game...the score seems to indicate otherwise. Did they suck the 1st period?

Boston came out flying, scored a couple PP goals, Leafs were running around, disorganized.  Second period was much more even, I'd say the Leafs had more chances, but Thomas made some great saves (and we hit a couple posts).

Pretty much... I mentioned it earlier but they just look like they are completely out of fuel tonight.

Defense was shoddy in front of Goose, yeah. Bruins came out hard also. Franson is a 6' 4" pussy.

Certainly wouldn't be the first time a couple guys ended up doing more harm than good in the weight room, focusing on the wrong areas or too much on certain areas.

Think Kadri said that is why he felt (and looked) a step slower last season.
