Game 76: Rangers @ Maple Leafs, 7:00pm, Stop getting points!!!

Building through the draft is so important in a cap system, so moving up a couple places in the draft is so critical. These extra OT points could literally be the difference between landing a elite franchise star vs. a 3rd liner.

Cheering for a win at this stage is so short sighted, it reminds me of the marshmallow study from the 1950's. They gave kids 1 marshmallow now or wait 15 minutes and you can have 2. Guess which kids ended up growing up to be more successful?

Those that didn't end up with diabetes?

Yeah, because that's how diabetes works.........that one extra marshmallow.

The ones that were able to sacrifice something in the present for greater results in the future.

Probably because it's irritating to listen to fellow fans cheer for the very outcome that will actually hurt the team's future.

Cheering has no effect what happens, so why do people care how others enjoy their hockey?

I just don't get the cheering. It's the sound of people not wanting to win a cup to me.

What is this one point that we got tonight going to do for anyone if we're in the same spot next March because we couldn't draft high again?

Getting a point in a useless game on March 24, 2012 isn't going to do much for anyone next year. Why cheer for that?

I don't cheer, I'm hoping for losses, but I don't care if other people want to cheer.

I just don't get the cheering. It's like cheering your kid to get over their crack habit.

I don't get the analogy, if I had a kid with a crack habit, I'd 100% be cheering for him or her to get over it.

Cheering your kid on while they did crack in front of you would do something for anyone? You'd have to get at the heart of the matter.

Rock bottom works for addicts and hockey teams.

I just can't believe that the people that have paid big money for tickets would cheer for their own team... they should ... uhh ....be miserable. Ya gotta love it when Leafs fans are complaining about Leafs fans cheering too much. That ain't one ya hear everyday.
I will continue to cheer for the Leafs when they do something well, while hoping we drop in the standings. When we win I'm glad for the guys on the ice and when we lose I'm glad we just might get a shot at Nail. Ultimately I want us to play a great game and lose by 1.

                              Go Leafs Go!

If I'm paying money to go to a game, I'm sure as heck going to cheer.

In fact, as I don't live anywhere near Toronto now, or usually, I would be cheering my lungs out.  If I got the chance to go to a game live (and not everyone at the game is a season ticket holder at every game) I'm certainly not going to sit on my hands and not enjoy it as much as I want.

This is completely rational to you.

Yet you consider the marshmallow comparison crazy.

Did you mind Ron Wilson getting fired when the fans weren't cheering so much?

Who said I considered the marshmallow comparison crazy?
