I missed it -- did Gardiner set up Connolly?
Yessir, on a 2 on 1.
Yup, dispossessed Lecavalier in the Leafs zone and took off, played a one two with Steckel, head on a swivel, dances around one guy towards the left of the net and slides it across the crease for the Connolly tap-in.

Yeah we need to talk to him...

Thanks guys.  I've been critical of his D -- hopefully he'll learn to be an effective positional d-man -- but his skating and puck handling is one of the few bright spots to have emerged this year.  That round-the-world goal the other night was amazing.

Millen, if what you are trending toward is suggesting Roloson for us next year....

Only Millen would consider a stretch where a goalie puts up a Sv% of .894 enough to say "he might still have it."

I don't know would it be much different than Giguere?  He only posted .900 while here but seemed to have a calming influence on the younger guys, and now he is putting up .923 in Colorado.  If he is cheap on a 1-year and there are no better options on the vet goalie market, why not?  I think it beats coming into another season with little experience in net again.

Greg Millen: Chief Apologist for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Maybe Schenn, quality young man that he is, will be somehere else next season?

Roloson did not look very flexible coming across there though...got luck that the shot was bad.

How the hell is Giguere so much better this year anyways?  I remember his groin movements looking similarly sketchy here last year.

He had successful surgery, IIRC.

Both our main goalies outplayed him this year, statistically-speaking. So how does it help?

Imagine we lose tonight and the Habs and Isles win?

Saturdays game would decide 3rd overall!
well, Tampa, and Carolina need to score 1 more (at least), Isles needs to hang for 20 more minutes...

Well, the main difference might be that Giguere is almost a decade younger than Roloson, and that his issues were injury related rather than age related.

Seems so.  Thanks.

No, no, no, Carolina needs to lose (though, preferably, in OT or a shootout).
