Game 9: Hurricanes @ Leafs 7:00PM Monday on SportsNet

I really don't want to keep harping on this, but Phaneuf had his best chance of the night on that last powerplay when he floated over to the other side of the ice and Kessel set him up for a one-timer.

Look folks, I've said it for a couple of years now: this team is faulty in its foundations.  We will never, ever have success built around Phaneuf and Kessel.  Losers.

Reimer's had a decent game but it would be really cool if we could have a goaltender give up less than 3 goals during his "good game".

Also nice to see our leading goal scorer Frattin with zero (0) time on the powerplay.  It takes an impressive mind to see through statistics like Randy.

Edit: Carlyle is becoming 'Randy' quicker than Ron became 'Ron'.  Doesn't bode well.

You're telling the wrong people.

What a horrible last couple of periods. How do you play so well in period one and then turn to crap like that?

I was just thinking that with a 3 goal deficit and <10 minutes left in the game that the team could use a good solid minute of their 4th line getting hemmed in their own zone.

"They said I was daft to build a castle in a swamp, but I did it all the same!  Just to show em... then it sank into the swamp. So I built a second one! That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one! That burned down, fell over and then sank into the swamp...."

I feel like thats where we are, right now.

What? Building our eight castle in a swamp?

Ok let that guru guy create the rest of the game day threads from now on.  Every time he has created one, the Leafs have won.  ::)

I like that we have a soft team in terms of physicality AND we are getting outskated by the Hurricanes.

Ok, gang, here's the real question. Once we all quit being Leafs fans out of shame, this domain name still has value as a meeting place for us all. So, what should the new TMLfans be in reference to? Wikipedia gives us some helpful suggestions

TML Entertainment, which was apparently a rock record label started by the band Triumph?

TransManche Link, the construction consortium that built the Chunnel?

The Taiwan Major League? A defunct professional baseball outfit?

So who are we picking 1st overall in the draft

Would be nice but the Washington friggen Capitals are going to get the first pick, or some other team less deserving.

We can't make a 5 foot pass.

Does anyone else notice our forwards are not finding any open space?  We'll tap in a rebound every now and then but when was the last time someone found enough space to actually snipe a goal, or made a nice pass to an open man for a shot?  Our offense is really really ugly right now.

Clearly it should be a reference to Walter Kent's romantic masterpiece "Too Much in Love".  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-HYOpmJs_w
