Given that last year Reimer was much better than Scrivens...probably not at all.  Although I wonder if Scrivens is actually the better goaltender as a 20-30 game backup than Reimer.  Reimer strikes me as a guy who needs to be 1B at least to be successful at this point.

I also wonder how much playing so many games behind the smothering defensive system in LA has helped him get into his current rhythm and helped him gain a level of confidence that's he's been able to ride though the dozen games he's played in Edmonton. The goaltending coach in LA also made some adjustments to Scrivens style and glove positioning. That's also had a positive impact, and he wouldn't have had that if he stayed here.

They actually made a number of pretty critical statements about Scriven's preparation/positioning at the start of the year I believe.  I think they changed up his game to a reasonable extent.

The Leafs are poorly coached?  Nothing to see here, moving on.

Stay tuned for some very important games tonight for the Leafs.

Blue Jackets/Habs
Lightning/Senators
Pens/Red Wings

But Wilson had .898 SV% goaltending his final season, 2nd worst in the entire league.  If you have Bernier/Reimer back there, as I demonstrated in my reply above, you should expect different results.

Wilson did have Reimer back there.

Montreal-Columbus tied, Tampa wins, Philly wins, New Jersey wins, Detroit in OT.  Joy.

Could not go much worse for the Leafs tonight. If the Habs and Jackets go to OT and Columbus wins, and the Caps win in regulation or OT, it would be the perfect storm of ungood.

Tampa now 5 points up with a game in hand.  Habs about to go at least 4 up.  Detroit is at most 4 points back with 2 games in hand.

EDIT: Maybe not Habs - Columbus just took the lead with 3:00 left.

Detroit wins in OT. Columbus up by a goal late.

Well, at least the Habs didn't get a point.

It's good that it didn't go to OT, but honestly I'd rather the Habs have won it. I'm content with the Atlantic going BOS-TB-MON. We're going to be battling for the wild card so it doesn't really matter how many points the Habs have. CBJ is the bigger threat to our playoff aspirations.
