Habs @ Leafs - Oct. 8th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Off to a stellar start.  Kessel wide open and rushes his chance.  Price made the save.

Not a great game.

Hard to get a read on the team after one game (obviously).  The first period shows what the potential is.  The second and third how far they still have to go.  Outbattled by MTL.

PERIOD MTL TOR
1st 6 11
2nd 13 7
3rd 13 9
Total 32 27

Maybe they just need time to settle in with all the changes...but yeah looking like same ol' team.  Are they too out of shape to skate with other teams for 60 minutes or something?

I still dislike Carlyle enough that I wonder if a bad streak to flush him wouldn't be better in the end.  Win or lose...of course since that's what I want they'll go .500 and nothing will change.

some good things but still cant win a draw and looked like we ran out of gas. like Polaks meanness.. Didntlike the Gardiner/ Reilly pairing tonight. Very weak in own zone.. top line looked beaten

Here's something I'll try to keep up for every game this season.

3 Obvious Observations from Tonight's Game

1. Morgan Reilly is on pace for 82 goals this season. I doubt he can keep it up but a good start for him.

2. If Bernier can make one save this season before giving up a goal, this would have been a different game today.

3. PK Subban is on pace for 82 goals and a +82 rating. Looks like he's going to earn that $9 million Montreal is paying him.

Have to give it awhile to see if things are the same or not. Just like winning the last 4 home openers weren't necessarily indicative of the teams skill neither is tonight's loss necessarily.
