Pretty ridiculous if the case.  Either retire numbers officially or don't.  Keon isn't special.  He was a great player in the history of the team.  14 isn't more deserving of a retirement than 13.

I've heard various things over the years that said that they more or less have done that for #13, also #17 and #93. Just off the top of my head I can't think of anyone wearing those numbers since those players retired.

But yeah, it's pretty nutty. I've always been ok with, if you really have a problem with retiring numbers, just quietly respecting Keon's wishes.

Agreed. I actually kind of like the Leafs' policy on retiring numbers. It keeps the more traditional numbers in the game. I also don't really have a problem with numbers being de facto retired for a period after a great player retires, either. No need to retire a number, but I don't want to see a 13 on the team until there's either a player deserving of it, or it's been long enough that there aren't players in the league that played with or against Mats.

I genuinely feel like that Hanifin/Marner discussion made me dumber.

Personally I have already written Marner off as a bust.  10 points > 0 points.

This is why I try to be productive during intermissions. The dishes weren't going to clean themselves!

I wanted to get excited about Marner's 2G 1A tonight against Sarnia but then I remembered that the Leafs passed on Hanifin.

This is pretty much what I think too.

Missed it, doing the dishes.  Did they mention furnaces and snowmobiles?

John Michael Liles.  Remember that time we traded for Tim Gleason and bought him out in the offseason without actually gaining anything!

Man, that was ages ago. Get over it. It's not like Gleason's buyout is still on the cap for the next two seasons.
