try to figure out what you can do to influence the 2018 midterms or 2020 elections.

Altered Detroit Red Wings logo used by white supremacists at the Virginia riots..

The spokes of the tire that is the center of the logo: the Right Wings logo has them resembling the lightning bolts of the Schutzstaffel -- Hitler's SS force.

Scaramucci speaks out on Trump re: Bannon, riots, etc.:

"He?s got to move more into the mainstream, he?s got to be more into where the moderates are and the independents are,? Scaramucci said of Trump. ?If he doesn?t do that, you?re going to see inertia and you?re going to see this resistance from more of the establishment senators that he needs to curry favor with.?

The former New York financier also linked the influence of Bannon to Trump?s president?s failure to forcibly denounce white supremacists who held a rally Saturday in Charlottesville, Virginia, that turned deadly.

?I wouldn?t have recommended that statement,? Scaramucci said. ?He needed to be much harsher as it related to the white supremacists and the nature of that.?

Guess who the only fans of Trump's response to Charlottesville were?

Trump has succumbed to the advice of pretty much everyone around him (other than Bannon and Miller, I'm guessing) in calling them out by name, and delivering a speech articulately, and not devolving into ad libbing about himself.

Ehhh, let's not get too carried away here. He read a speech that was clearly written by somebody else on a teleprompter with almost zero emotion behind his words.

Wow he's pretty bad at hiding the fact that he's reading off a screen. Sounds like he is pronouncing the big words out, then discovering what that word is, a-ccount-able, oh yes, I know that word, accountable!

Let's get pedantic about this:
Articulate: (of a person or a person's words) having or showing the ability to speak fluently and coherently.
Emotion's got nothing to do with it. I think everyone knows there was a gun to his head on this.

Honestly, I'm surprised he could read straight through something for that length of time.

Meaningless what he said today... his initial reactions are what people will remember.

You need to hit TWO different buttons to retweet something on twitter. "Inadvertently" retweeting something is almost impossible unless you're dealing with a child... oh wait.

The new chief of staff is rather competent, hence Trump's periodic non-tweeting:
The president had indicated to advisers before his initial statement Saturday that he wanted to stress a need for law and order, which he did. He later expressed anger to those close to him about what he perceived as the media?s unfair assessment of his remarks, believing he had effectively denounced all forms of bigotry, according to outside advisers and White House officials.

Several of Trump?s senior advisers, including new chief of staff John Kelly, had urged him to make a more specific condemnation, warning that the negative story would not go away and that the rising tide of criticism from fellow Republicans on Capitol Hill could endanger his legislative agenda, according to two White House officials.

Took him less than 24 hours to essentially walk back from all these comments in a press conference just now.

And then make a bunch of even dumber ones than what he said Saturday. Putting a ton of blame on the "violent" protesters from the left side now.

Check Daniel's feed for a lot more comments, but yeah those are the two most jarring.

Q&A starts around 9:20

The fun part kicks in question #2.

Edit: holy false equivalency, Batman. He almost said 'bad hombres' again.

Imagine being an older person who fought the Nazis, who probably had friends killed fighting the Nazis, seeing what's become of that legacy of sacrifice in their final years.

I really don't know how else to put it. This isn't about marginal tax rates or deficit spending any more. Supporting this presidency is normalizing white supremacy as a political ideology.

I mean, if there's any silver lining - and it's extremely thin and exceptionally tarnished - it's that he's not threatening North Korea anymore.
