What teams are those? Who is having trouble moving someone with a big contract?
Tampa and LeCavalier

That's probably the best example but with that said:
A) Any reports about the Lightning trying to move him have been unconfirmed rumours
B) We have no idea what the details of any such discussions may have been
I mean, for the most, part these contracts seem to moveable. Even Luongo has teams interested in him but the deal seems held up by the fact that Gillis wants an unreasonable return for him. The idea that these contracts are terrible albatrosses are purely speculative.

BlueWhiteBlood said:Sure, I can't say for certain that LeCavalier has been shopped, but it's not rocket science to think that Yzerman wants that contract gone. He can't be considered in any capacity as good price performance.
BlueWhiteBlood said:I also think that with Luongo, it is his contract that has kept the number of suitors down to almost 2-3 teams and even those teams appear to be leery of that 10 marriage.
BlueWhiteBlood said:My point was more around players with those contracts, who's play has gone south and I can't think of one that has been moved.
Nik? said:What would a 28 goal, 68 point centre get on the open market? 6.5 million? 7? He's had some bad luck with injuries but he's been a pretty good player over the course of his deal.

Well, confirmation.
Joe S. said:Then it's not a rumor anymore.

You know you've used two different spellings of the word now, right?

All this time, we've been debating whether this is a rebuild, a retool or a reload. It turns out it's a rebuke.
boooooo.
Were you saying booooo or boooourke?
bourke bourke bourke!

Campbell and Gomez come to mind as more akin to the Lecavalier situation.

Gomez was moved because the receiving GM is completely incompetent, and Campbell was re-acquired by the guy who signed him to that huge deal and had about $30 mil to spend to get to the cap floor. He also had a fair bit left in the tank and was a pretty solid player, albeit on a crazy contract.
