A finnish leaf fan said:Not surprising after Carlyle threw him under the bus by blaming him for the losing streak.
Well it sure wasn't praise he was giving him. Randy s**t the bed when he said his goaltender was "just ok". Although is was true, there was no need to say that in the media.Nik the Trik said:A finnish leaf fan said:Not surprising after Carlyle threw him under the bus by blaming him for the losing streak.
Yeah, that just didn't happen.

Peter D. said:So what are we hoping for in terms of a return from Reimer? My guess is a 2nd rounder is probably the best we can hope for right now.

Sure, but he'll need a contract for that.

Brodeur puts in nicely. Prefering the #1 but eventually a backup role can be something you can be happy with.
?If I get a job as a No. 1, I think I?m able to handle the workload of 50 to 60 games. If I don?t, and I get a backup job on a team I feel has a chance to win the Stanley Cup, anything between 20 to 30 games I?d be comfortable with in the right situation,? Brodeur said Thursday. ?I want to play the game. I understand my age, for people, is a big deal, but I stayed healthy all year. I played 39 games. Didn?t miss a practice. Didn?t miss a game. I was pretty happy about that.?

Mike Kostka, Mark Fraser, Matt Frattin, Joe Colborne...it's like the team is just shedding all-stars.
And I suppose you think Reimer is nearer the level of Mark Fraser, Matt Frattin, and Joe Colburne than Mikhail Grabovski, Clarke MacArthur, and J.M. Liles?
I should've said: 'like the last several good players to depart.' Apologies. Yeah, mediocrities will be mediocre anywhere. But good players who have off years here seem to get dumped and end up doing pretty well elsewhere.
I think it's debatable whether or not Liles and Grabovski did well elsewhere. I mean, 13 goals doesn't scream "Look at what you're missing!"
Well, he was at a 50-point pace between a 2nd/3rd line in an injury-hampered season. The Caps sites say his linemates were more productive and more defensively sound when he played with them. Both Liles and Grabovski had impressive goal shares with their new teams. So, I'd say while they weren't First All-Star Team seasons, they had good seasons.
Would you rather have Brodeur in that game?Highlander said:What a matter with Macintyre as Back up? Reimer just needed to stop 3 goals two years ago to cement his place on this team, he couldnt stem the tide and was history from that point on.
