Oh Jesus Komarov's on the powerplay.

I want someone to lay into Babcock and force him to directly answer for his indefensible use of Komarov. Ask why he thinks Komarov, who has the lowest points per 60 in the league, is a better option than one of our young dynamic players who was playing great.

Why not just ask him yourself?

Komarov was on the PP that scored too. He was the guy that helped set up the possession ahead of the scoring sequence.

Most PP units have 3 scoring options, so they?re not soaking up plays from the actual top players. Yeah it sucks that Johnsson?s not in there instead, but his season is next year.

There is no world in which 2018 Leo should be on the powerplay. The fact that he happened to be on at the same time as the Leafs score does not change that fact.

Leo is where Leafs? possession goes to die.

I can still hope he runs Hellebuyck and gets a long suspension. Retribution for them running McBackup and we get Johnsson back. Win win

Agree. Leo should never see pp time. And he didn't do so hot on the pk either. He needed to stop that shot. Sorry Leo fabs but I'd rather have Johnsson on the 4th. The line is actually useful then.

Yeah, Komarov on the PP definitely means Babcock and Hiller are out to lunch on how to coach and they know nothing about hockey players.

Charter member of complaining about coaching decisions here, but this is not a worthwhile hill to plant a flag in.

He has 1 powerplay point in his last 69 games, but sure his usage there is beyond questioning.

Who's made this claim?

Zaitsev made a D-D pass instead of bumping up the boards for a turnover because Rielly called him to give him a better option.

I would argue that playing a washed up veteran who has hurt the team all year over a rookie who was playing great is a perfectly legitimate grievance.

Komarov essentially eliminates the offence of any line he is on. That significantly harms the team dynamic.

Yes it is. For the most part the Matthews pp unit has struggled. You don't put a non offensive threat like Leo on it to help. You should actually try to load up on offensive players. Kapanen would be a much better option.

On paper, I don?t disagree; Johnsson and Kapanen are my preferred options. Asking for a beat reporter to lay into Babcock for that decision is silly for several reasons.

I would take exception with your constant characterization of Komarov and Marleau (etc.) as washed up, which just sounds like angry cloud yelling when that?s all you ever talk about.

Leafs have played pretty well this third period, probably deserve to be tied but doesn't look like the puck is gonna go in

I didn't see where anyone said in this thread that Marleau is washed up.
Let's all agree tho Leo is done. We have better options. Babs wants thay 'heavy body' and the move has killed the 4th line.

That crappy third goal is a back breaker. If Leafs only needed 1 I would say they had a shot
