Justin Schultz

What time is "the decision" Justin Schultz edition on tomorrow? Want to make sure I tune in.

If what Ryan said is any indication of what NHL players are feeling about Schultz, I've got a feeling that this kid is going to be knocked around quite a bit when he finally does play.

Strickland is pretty sharp. So much for Schultz. Time to move on

He also said that a third team is in the mix but didn't say who they were.

I see he's been to the Eklund-school of reporting rumours.

The good old "cover my butt just in case I'm wrong" technique. The student is about to become the master.

;D

Well, at least now we can start making the shift from being hopeful to full out mocking Justin Schultz mode.

And I too think there will be some guys looking to knock his block off.

I don't see how fans or players should think that he's responsible for the minor media circus around the whole situation.

Probably a bit of that feeling for a guy who hasn't proved himself. It probably hits harder with the Ducks since he was drafted there and refused to play. Boudreau even said he talked to him and told him he wanted him to play.

It's him and his agents who arrange all the team meetings. This is close to Lebron level of circus only difference is Lebron was a league MVP. This guy hasn't played a pro game.

Also, players usually feel honored and lucky to be drafted into the NHL. This guy seems to want to call his own shots. They'll be resentment over that.

Reports out there he refused to take Neidermayer's (ala Gretzky calling for Edmonton) calls as part of Ducks plea to get him signed.

That has bothered some players apparently.

I think that was just Mirtle making a bad joke.

Even if it wasn't, Schultz has already closed the door on the Ducks. Get over it already. If every team (particularly the one's he's not currently negotiating with) started to get their old-time stars to call the guy it'd be nuts.

The meetings and stuff is fairly standard practice when teams and players have the time to make it work. It's the media that has chosen to report about every specific meeting and put this thing under a microscope. Without them, these same meetings would still be happening, but, we just wouldn't know anything about it.

Doesn't matter it's still a slap in the face to the team that drafted him. Imagine if it were a Leafs pick, say Finn our 2nd pick that did the same thing? He becomes really good in college, drops out so he can become a free agent and signs with the Habs. We'd hate him.

Sure, I'd be upset about it, but, it wouldn't be because of the media concocted process, rather, it would be because he used a loophole to spurn the team I support.

People are ripping the media circus in part because of the absurdity of giving quasi star status to this guy who hasn't proven himself. The fact that he turned his back on the Ducks, told them he was all anxious to play with them (according to Boudreau) and then does this, makes it look very bad on him.

The circus is 100% on the media. As for being anxious to play for them, I'll take Boudreau's word with a grain of salt. Schultz was most likely just telling them what he thought they wanted to hear to avoid an uncomfortable situation while he was around them in person. We don't know the whole story here, and we likely never will. I understand Duck fans and their players not be happy with the situation, but, really, if the media hadn't blown it up like this, very few people would really care.

I'd be upset if I was a Ducks fan but that would be way more about the Ducks than Schultz.

I think the Ryan tweet is probably more about the Ducks too.
