Kings @ Leafs - Nov. 8th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Also what is it with Kings players scoring goals from behind the net for the 5th goal in a game against the Leafs?

Laine with 4 points and a period to go tonight.

Suddenly he's the front runner for rookie of the year.

Yeah, I have a feeling that is going to be a fluid position.  He might start getting a little more attention which allows someone else to break through.

Yeah, they were both equally unpalatable.

Certainly not.  I can watch the Leafs lose 7-0 over and over, as painful as it might be.  I can't watch Trump win once even though I just did.

I fell asleep in the middle of the first...any positives at all in this one?

Ultimately it's just a hockey game and wins and losses, while a pleasant distraction, don't matter much in the grand scheme of things? That's kind of a positive in as much in that it can inspire us to all be better people and, for us Canadians at least, be thankful that while we still have our own problems and political divides they don't seem to be quite as dangerous as they are elsewhere in the world.

Hug me Frank.

Now 1-4-1 against teams that made the playoffs last year with a -16 goal differential in those games. Throw in Montreal, where it seems fairly clear that Price is the difference between them being a good "team" or not and it's 1-5-1 and -17.

Which, to be clear, shouldn't be seen as a "negative" comment. The fact that they're doing better against the teams at their level is a sign of real improvement. The fact that they're consistently getting beaten, and beaten with some degree of consistency and extent, by good veteran teams should be expected of a young and inexperienced team.

Which, if you'll allow me, should speak to something from a few days ago. I am very excited about this team's potential and future. That does not mean I have to be blind to what this team is right now or pretend that the future is closer than I think it is.
