Leafs acquire Galchenyuk from Carolina

Wasn't Galchenyuk the guy we said two days ago is on the verge of playing himself out of the league?

Yes. And he just got traded for a guy who's unlikely to ever play himself into the league.

So you're saying he's better than Vesey.  Reading between the lines, of course.

I'm not sure who you're referring to by "he" there but the answer is the same either way.

I mean I think it's possible he can revitalize his career but if he can't really make it in Ottawa. Then again it's a tire fire. Bup.

He's scored 30 before. Maybe he's going with JT and Willy, who knows what the plan is.

Interesting note there on Warsofsky, who had a very long and notable career in the Leafs organization.

I mean Galchenyuk kinda sucks, but he did score lots of goals once so if he can even chip in something without being a liability you gotta believe it's more than Korshkov would ever have done.

Yeah. I?m not sure I?d put much into his struggles in Ottawa. His struggles elsewhere, though, would be concerning if the team needed him to play a prominent role. As a depth forward, though? Not concerned, at all. No expectations from him, so anything he brings is a bonus.

Can't be worse then Vesey, can he?

Depends. A big issue with Galchenyuk over the past few years has been that he's really bad defensively. Unless the Leafs can clean that up Vesey, who might not provide many positives but also doesn't really burn the team defensively, could still be a better option.
