What I'm seeing (not necessarily from you) are people so in love with Reimer that they are jumping at every chance to discredit Bernier.

That's funny, because I've seen a lot more the other way around - people were totally won over by Bernier's first few games that they've jumped on Reimer for everything. Heck, more than one person has criticized Reimer for getting hit in the head by Leivo in the last game.

The snark from certain media members on Twitter over Reimer's rebounds and their love-in for Bernier was nauseating.

"Nauseating" is an interesting choice of word. You find support for a Leaf player 'nauseating'?

I find their mocking of Reimer in favour of Bernier after a couple games to be, yes.

Jonathan Bernier faced more than 30 shots only 4 times in the previous 2 seasons. About to face 30-plus for the 5th time this season.

Dat rebound control.  I don't think it's going to be cutting down too many shots against at this rate.

That's why a goalie can only carry you so much. Don't care how good you are save percentage is definitely going to be worse on a poor defensive team.

Not going to blame Bernier on that one, but this is why you don't anoint a guy on the basis of 3 games.

He should be the starter.  He has more experience, gets paid more, is higher rated and it cost the Leafs draft picks to get him.

Bernier has less experience.  How much you get paid, how highly rated, and how much you cost are irrelevant. We should play the better player.

Not surprised that the game's turning out this way. Most of the top teams in the West simply dominate in puck possession.

And the Leafs, right now, just aren't playing very well up front. They need Clarkson/Kulemin back, and they need the 1st line to show up, in order to win against a team like Chicago.

Since no one would ever try Grabovski, can we please try Kadri with Kessel and JVR?  Just for this 3rd?  Please sir?

Carlyle will die before he even thinks about playing Kadri with Kessel.

Edit: and don't even think about suggesting that Bozak should play less than 23 minutes a game.

That's the one that gets me a little bit is the ice-time discrepancy.  Bozak is at 15:35 of ice-time already.  Kadri despite getting a goal is 3rd on the team in terms of centermen ice-time at just under 10 minutes.  I know a good portion of that is PK time (2:06 to 0:34) but it seems like the default is that Bozak stays on the top line regardless of results and only the bottom 3 lines can be tinkered with.

Who knew that a PP strategy where the defensemen just pass the puck back and forth without making any effort to create space for a shot wouldn't be an effective strategy.

is higher rated

Subjective and pretty meaningless when it comes to the actual games on the ice. Eric Fichaud was once a highly rated young goalie, so was Trevor Kidd.

To be absolutely, positively fair - Bernier IS the default starter in NHL 14.

Finally some facts that support my claims.

Seriously, I didn't know...I always thought Bernier had played more games.  Sorry : :-[
