leafs @ Blackhawks - Oct. 27th, 7:30pm - SN, TSN 1050

I know they've abandoned stretch passes and flip-outs but I think they need more of that.  Something to create chaos on the opponents d and you might get the odd breakaway.  I haven't seen much real estate around Matthews this year.

They are so predictable and that's on the coaches IMO.

Holl and Muzzin can be demoted to 3rd pairing now please.

If Muzzin's injured, he just needs to stop playing for awhile. If he's not, we're in trouble.

Part of me wonders if the team should consider trading him before teams start to think this just a rough stretch. Would also work as a real wake up call for the rest of the roster.
I mean at some point you have to recognize what this team is or you're delusional. And I honestly think Kyle is so delusional that he'll get fired in season for not doing anything to shake up the lines. He's going to be an old man drooling in a rocking chair insisting that this core could have gotten it done if they just had more time or played out slightly differently.

It's only the eighth game of the regular season, but it feels like this is already a huge moment for the Leafs.

"I think we have to win," said centre David Kampf, who is returning to Chicago after playing the last four seasons with the Blackhawks. "It's a big game for us and hopefully we will do it. We are ready. We had a good practice yesterday."

"We just got to win," said Simmonds. "It's a big one."

"Urgency is high," said Keefe. "I think the guys recognize what's going on here."

Think again.

Urgency to what? Do another fashion show?

Watching the intermission can put stuff in perspective...it's just a game that in the grand scheme of things means little....Kyle Beach has amazing strength putting his name out there.

I want to be able to predict that they'll come out like gangbusters in the 2nd and take control.  But I don't feel it.

An early PP goal would help.

It feels like we need a player from another team, like Brad Marchand, to just come out and say "The Toronto Maple Leafs are just a tire fire, like a complete and hopeless tire fire.  There are AHL teams that are better".  Just to see what happens to the team.

I wasn't alive at this point but are we witnessing the late 70s repeating itself? Sittler and MacDonald and some good players, couldn't do anything and nothing to replace them with.

Dammit, you didn't say for who.

With this team the answer is nothing unfortunately.

I mean, at least they had Tiger Williams for a bit.  This team doesn't even have that.
