I think what saddens me is that they look like there giving everything they got, it's just nowhere near enough.

RC was done, but it doesn't really matter.

Leafs need a miracle...on ice. Yes, a miracle that takes place on the ice.

Yeah, no they don't.

They need their shooting percentage to come back from 1.1% to around the league average, which is pretty inevitable, when that happens, if they play this way, they'll win more than they lose.

EDIT: I'd also add, they need to make some personnel decisions pretty soon too, without going nuclear.

But that's just going back to RC hockey, and they weren't good enough for that either.

What do you mean by that? I think he's saying that the SH% is way too low to continue no matter what style they're playing. Carlyle didn't play a system to get a high SH%, they just had a high SH% early in a couple seasons but it regressed towards the mean by the end.

It's been low lately but odds are it will turn around. It's been hurt by facing some of the best teams in the league too and getting some bad luck.

So I get that they have some injuries that's affecting the depth but do they really need to have Bozak play entire powerplays? I mean he was on for an entire 2 minutes for a powerplay that was absolutely horrendous. I'm not even sure he touched the puck at any point either.

This road trip has really shown how valuable top centres can be. Bozak has just been gutted in literally all aspects of his game.

Ill still come to the site and follow the team but I'm not watching anymore games.

Peace

It's impossible to stay away. They'll probably go on a 10-0 run now.

Was that at the expense of Kadri? If so then I agree, but otherwise there aren't a lot of great options (Bozak has been one of the teams better PP producers this year).

Why Clarkson is still on a PP unit is beyond everyone I'd imagine. For all the stat heads the team employs they sure have missed how bad he is in so many situations and continue to throw him out there.

Bozak started off really well on the powerplay but his point production there dropped drastically since. First 16 games of the season he actually led the team in powerplay points with 8 points in 16 games. Kessel and JVR had 6 and 5 respectively. In the 30 games that have followed though he has just 3 PP points. Phil and JVR have 11 and 10.

Average.  He's working hard but I think he's playing hurt.

I'd prefer to have Panik on Kadri's line as opposed to Winnik. I like Winnik on a line with two offensive players (like with Bozak/Kessel or Kadri/Lupul) but Santorelli pretty much plays Winnik's 5-on-5 role and then some, so I think having both on the same line limits Kadri a bit offensively.
