Watching it live,I yelled "offside" at my TV before the goal even went in...the TV folks were talking about the wrong player going offside.  It was definitely worth a challenge.

Devils advocate - Get it wrong and Boston is likely up 2-0...

Frustrating that they didn't have the right replay, but, given the circumstances, it becomes more of a late in the game type challenge. With that much hockey left, it's not worth the risk of falling behind by two. With a few minutes left? Risk it to preserve the tie/keep it close.

Maybe...its probably also worth it in a Game 1 First 5 minutes in of a 7 game series as well in a game where you were getting clocked as well.  Its all about momentum especially early in the series.  Any other situation or time in the series and I would likely agree with you.

All in all, Matthews, Nylander, Kadri, Babcock and Reilly were all frustrating for me yesterday.  Marner was ok, but he got caught for some big hits which is quite rare (remember it was said that they'd have to catch him in order to hit him...well they caught him).

That's why we lost...their best players were A LOT better than ours.  That won't happen every game, so I still believe we can make it a series.

I really wonder what would have happened if Marner was able to score with that backhand when it was tied.  TSN turning point in my opinion.

Isn't someone getting paid like $80k a year just to provide these replays? How is this acceptable?
Mind boggling, totally amateur, completely ridiculous, incomprehensible. Are fans not pissed about this? I am!

As stated, Plekanec hasn't gotten the job done 5 on 5.  Lots of criticism of Komarov, but I think he played better than Plekanec last night.  19 better pick it up starting now or that trade will go down as the biggest waste of a 2nd rounder ever.

Yanic Perreault says "bonjour".

Pffft.  When they reacquired him wasn't that the year that they brought back Dougie to make a big run and he got wiped out 15 seconds into the first game?  Whatever it was, it was orders of magnitude smaller than this botchjob.  (So far.)

Oh, no, Perreault was in the JFJ era was when the Leafs weren't even in a playoff spot and then they still fell short of making it while Perreault averaged less than 10 minutes a game.

Speaking of JFJ, he was on Landsberg in the morning yesterday, I guess him and Landsberg are buddies or something based on how they were talking.  JFJ is now the GM of the Providence Bruins.  Losing to the Bruins with this guy involved in the organization is just a cruel twist of fate.

Tough to watch last night.

I don't really care about what they do with a 4th line winger, because unless Matthews, Marner, and Nylander can find a way to get some goals, they're toast.  The Leafs don't have the jam to play a physical game, so they'd better find a way to make them miss and outskate them.

Wingels made the initial dirty play so I have no sympathy for him.  He went for Marner's head (just as he was getting hit by Chara no less), so Kadri retaliated.  It was illegal by Kadri but I didn't think it was that bad and Wingels deserved it anyway.

No, he didn't deserve it. That's backwards thinking. If Kadri had a real issue with the hit on Marner he should of waited until Wingels stood back up, dropped the gloves and both could of went off for 5 minutes

I agree to a point, unless the stars get going they?re toast, but sports comes down to the extra 2% and the fourth line accounts for way more than that, it deserves optimization.

Maybe "deserved it" isn't the right wording, but I have no sympathy for him.  He hit Marner when he was vulnerable a second prior.  But you're right, that would have been a better response.  Easy for us to say though when we have more than a few nano-seconds to react.

Perhaps it's easy for us to respond properly, but since when is hitting someone on their knees head first into the boards ever the right response? In any situation?

3 games was warranted IMO

Yeah which would have led to a lopsided victory for the Bruins instead of the...oh wait
