Leafs @ Canadiens - May 24th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

I didn't have a good feeling about this one after hearing Foligno was a no-go. Boys proved me wrong. Kerfoot had a strong game. Willy is on fire. Jack makes it look easy. The Leafs had a large amount of golden opportunities to make this game far from close, particularly in the 2nd. Let's do it again tomorrow!!

So.... are we coming back with Jack?
I wouldn't hesitate to play Campbell again tomorrow.  If Foligno still can't play, I'd like to see Brooks in for Nash too.

I thought Riley Nash was really strong PKing tonight.
Brooks is really green to be thrown straight into a playoff game when we have Riley Nash.

If they play Brooks, and he scores and Caufield doesn't, I will never stop laughing.

Honestly, massive props to Foligno for making this decision. That isn't easy to do from a player's stand point.

No argument from me about that.  Just more I?d like to give Brooks a chance more than wanting Nash out.

Marner is sucking the life out of the PP on that side.
Yup.. Brutal

Yup. Thornton too seems like a complete waste of space on the first pp.  He?s in a sniper spot in the middle of the ice and has no role in the entry or in puck retrieval. It just makes no sense.  Matthews and Nylander on opposite wings. If you can?t take Marner out, try him in the middle. He could take quick shots or make creative plays and help with entries.

I?d take Thornton out. Thornton-Spezza-Simmons is too slow and defensively problematic. Spezza is great. Simmons I can understand his role. Sorry Joe. Take a seat tomorrow.

I think it will depend on Foligno again. If he continues to use Engvall with Mikheyev and Simmonds I could see him reuniting Brooks with Spezza and Thornton.

They weren't a line very much tonight. Simmonds was bumped to the third line.
And Spezza and Thornton were just fine.

Spezza, yes. He is amazing. Thornton, no. Thornton is not winning any offensive zone puck battles, turns the puck over, is slow getting back on defense, is not creating offense, has no impact on the power play. His intangibles had really better be through the roof somehow.

Yeah, Thornton has been to meh this season with a few flashes of nastiness or skill every 10 or so games.  I would sit him for 10 games and then see what he can do rested.

Spezza has been fantastic!  Great skill, heavy hits, elite FOs.

Simmonds should see how good Weber broken hand is.  Weber is tough holding his stick.  Drop the stick wuss and fight like a tough guy.
