When he need to prove to be the number #1 goalie. He needs to play large and make big saves which he has  not all season

Exactly... none were his fault, but, it would not hurt for him to make a stop on a difficult shot!  ::)

The save on Oshie when he was in alone was easy?

Look we get that the guy has sucked all year, but don't ignore the fact that tonight isn't on him, he's made some good saves.

Sure, he's made some good saves, but, he's also guessed wrong and allowed a goal to be scored too.

You're talking about a 50/50 play, as a goalie he has to play it that way, he was unlucky.

He's too small, and, he's too unlucky far too often!  :'(

Oshie with 3 apples for the first star. Nice game from the Leafs against the best in the league. Fun one to watch.

i like how sharp the refs are calling holland on the hand pass after he gets crosschecked to the ice.

You're not wrong, it seemed like they decided in the first intermission that they favored the Leafs too much and completely flipped the script.

The Kadri call at the end of the second was laughable in that he took a worse cross check as the ref was talking to him and then they could have given Alzner a diving penalty on the Soshnikov hit.

I won't disagree with you there. [emoji106]

Yep. Refs tonight calling for the Tank.

I keep going back and forth on Holland but I think I'm ready to move on from him.

To me, that depends on what the team does with Bozak and Kadri (and if they land Matthews). He's a good fill in as the 3rd line centre for now, and he's also not likely to return enough in a trade to really push sell on him.

I'm saying Soshnikov tonight (Kadri set-up), Nylander and Kapanen both score tomorrow night (mostly because I can't watch tonight's game).

If Nylander and Kapanen score tonight I'm buying my first ever lottery ticket.

Can you also predict that Donald Trump will NOT be the president here in the U.S.? thanks a bunch..

Was a beautiful snipe by the kid last night for his 1st of many I hope

Also (no video sadly): Mike Johnson with the great analysis of Zach Hyman adjusting to Washington's break out and offensive zone entry tactic, busting tail to pre-empt the attempt. I don't know what Florida was thinking letting this guy go for Greg McKegg.

He's also shown the ability to play on the wing, he might even be better suited for that position. He can play basically anywhere in the line-up in a pinch. Can contribute on either of the specialty teams. Local kid, seems to genuinely enjoy playing in Toronto. As long as his cap hit remains at a reasonable rate (which I don't see why it wouldn't), I'd hang onto him even if he's just being penciled in as a 4th line winger.

Agreed with CTB, I like the kid a lot, hes' big, has good hands and he competes hard, local boy from Caledon (my old stomping yard).  I think he may be a very good player for us yet. He shows signs of brilliance albeit from only time to time.
