Leafs @ Coyotes - Nov. 4th, 9:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

You know what's a good play.  Doing a long dump in with no forechecking speeding against the goaltender who has stopped every single dump in and turned the puck back the other way every single time it happens.  I think the Leafs should keep trying it.

I'm assuming that means the collective age of the Leafs is well under 3 years of age because usually you learn about cause and effect by then.

You know I was watching the pre game interviews and it was clear the message the team was given was that chip and chase was solely responsible for their recent success, several of them talked about 'just chipping it in'.

That is such bullshit.

How many times do you need be told that it's not an effective strategy? It leads to loss of possession.

Ugh I'm so annoyed.

NK can't believe that Rielly couldn't get a good one-timer from a pass that was in his feet. Wow.

Honestly it wasn't in a bad spot. He has a lot of work to do on his game in the offensive end. He seems to have no finish/shot whatsoever at this point.

That's how he took that pass. You can't physically get a solid one-timer from that position.

Lefthanded shot gets the puck at his right foot, and that's not in a bad spot? There aren't many worse spots for him to receive the puck and to try to get a one-timer off.

I disagree.  It was in the perfect spot...for a right handed shot

Stupid Rielly not using the right/wrong stick.

He's been perfectly fine for a 20 year old not getting 1st unit PP time or top pairing minutes.  His P/60 last season was 43rd out of 121 d-men who played at least 1000 mins 5v5.  He's only 84 games into his NHL career, and that's with missing a fairly significant chunk of junior development with a knee injury.

You can. It's a matter letting the puck hit your stick in a way that allows you to get extended.

If I had a suit on and a big useless Hockey Night in Canada fake ice studio, I'd demonstrate.

If he takes the time to get in that position based on the pass he received, the opportunity to catch the goalie off guard is gone, and the effectiveness of the one-timer is significantly decreased.

You just know if the Leafs do get pressure Smith is finally going to be great.

Doesn't look like that's really going to be much of a problem. The Leafs aren't going to be spending a lot of time in the Arizona zone at this rate.

Hey, they had 3 shots in the 1st period and now have 1 shot in the first 5 minutes of the 2nd period.  That's a pace for 4 shots and improvement.
