Game Notes

TOR
?Andersen (22-13-3, 2.67 GAA, .922 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?One line-up change is expected from the Leafs: Dominic Moore seems like he'll be back in for Gauthier at 4C
?In the past 10 games the Leafs current forward group has a combined 48 points... that'll be interesting in about 30-ish seconds

PHI
?Michal Neuvirth (3-5-1, 2.39 GAA, .923 Sv%) will likely start for the Flyers
?The Flyers have been using a Provorov-Gostisbehere top pairing lately. Wow, two left-handed, highly skilled puck moving defencemen, they must be getting crushed... *looks up notes* yup, they only have a 57% CF when together this season
?Philly has gone 12-5-1 since losing 10 straight games early in the season. They currently sit 10th in the East and just 3 points behind Pittsburgh for the final wild card spot
?The Flyers' big-3 forwards are showing no signs of slowing down: Voracek and Giroux are 1-2 in the league in assists while Couturier is 4th in goals. In their past 10 games the 3 have a combined 40 points

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?Nikita Soshnikov - Groin - Injured Reserve
?Nikita Zaitsev - Lower Body - Injured Reserve

That crazy idea that a Rielly - Gardiner should work...
Hopefully the Leafs offense will awake tonight and they can finish the Flyers in regulation.

Go Leafs Go!!!

Here's the two of them discussing how great they are together:

Provorov looks like he just noticed the cameras caught him about to lean in.

It would literally never happen, but this defence would be interesting to see for awhile:

Gardiner-Rielly
Dermott-Zaitsev
Borgman-Hainsey

Or if Babcock wanted a more "reliable" second pairing he could go Hainsey-Zaitsev and then some combination of Borgman/Dermott/Polak/Carrick as the 3rd pairing.

So I?m listening to leafs lunch and they?re talking about the reason the leaves are struggling is because so many players are in the drought. They seem to view the drought is the reason the team is in scoring and are ignoring the entire fact that maybe the style of play is causing the drought in the first place.

I think you can write off one or two players struggling over more than a 10 game stretch as a drought. I think it?s a lot harder to make that same argument when it?s the majority of the team

Freddy's playing so, so well. Been really sharp. Tops in the Leauge in TOI and shots/saves yet again. Dude is taking care of himself / 95 rating in durability. I think it's finally put to rest that the big Dane is a bona-fide number one. And at $5-million for another 3 years after this, a helluva a signing/calculated risk a couple years back. Well done Lou and co.
