Palmateer29 said:Hmm you must be watching a different Franson. I don't think I have seen a defenseman shoot as many shots into shinpads in my life. At least Schenn has the sense to shoot the puck wide off the back boards instead of trying to shoot through someone directly in front of him. Everytime I see Franson I just see an out of position pylon, not saying Schenn doesn't get out of position I just see it more in Franson. I guess everyone sees something different.Zee said:Palmateer29 said:I'd much rather send Franson than Schenn.Chazz-Micheal Liles said:Zee said:Gardiner will play tomorrow according to Paul Hendrick. Schenn cause he is getting traded
Franson has offense, Schenn doesn't. I haven't had problems with Franson out there, he adds another dimension to the defense with his quick point shot that are fairly accurate. At least he can get the shot through consistently. I'd rather get rid of Komisarek if at all possible, there's no room on the Leafs defense for 2 incredibly slow guys like Komi and Schenn. One of the 2 shouldn't be there.

I wouldn't say 100% as it was a nice pass in the air but yes he should have been on that man in front. Of course Vanek probably should have received 5 and a game for the knee he threw a couple minutes before. Franson won't be on the powerplay at all when Lyles gets back in the lineup. All I remember is one of the games against Winnepeg when Franson must have taken 15 shots and I think 1 made it past the defenders and actually made it on net.Zee said:Palmateer29 said:Hmm you must be watching a different Franson. Franson you can use on the powerplay, Schenn you can't. Also, I distinctly recall Schenn being 100% at fault for the winning goal on Friday night in Buffalo, so yeah I guess I'm seeing something different.

Everyone has their favourite and not so favourite players. I always thought Ian Turnbull was hugely over rated, and I liked Rocky Saginiuk but that's just my opinion as well I guess.

Leafs GM Brian Burke met w/ handful of reporters pre-game; says John-Michael Liles is 'progressing nicely' & should be ready after the break

John-Michael Liles even went so far as to search for a set of new pillows, anything to alleviate the neck problem which has plagued him since late December.
Contrary to the widely-held assumption, however, Liles does not believe that he has been suffering from a concussion. In fact, the 31-year-old believes that the symptoms he's been experiencing for the past 15 games are more closely related to the trouble he's been having with his neck, specifically a "locked" feeling which has quietly subsided of late.

He could have made a difference yesterday. He is one player I really like out there with 1 minute to go in a close game. No one on this team can play along the boards like Armstrong and this is one are where we really struggle in our zone. Let's hope he won't strain an MCL putting on his skates.
