I've really soured on Brown in the same way that I have with Armstrong. I don't think that either of them were all that effective in their action when in the lineup this year and when they have been so unreliable health-wise, I think its unfortunate that a guy like Frattin loses his job despite doing nothing to deserve demotion.
Brown gives the team some physical play, but the lineup loses offense with Brown relative to Frattin. And it's not like Brown helps the PK. He's been on the ice for 6 PK goals in 18GP. He's second on the team behind Grabovski (who averages less than a minute on the PK/game) for most goals/minute PK time. Maybe that's just small sample size, but he's a 4th liner, and to me, we just lost a guy who was playing like a capable 3rd liner for him to come back in the lineup. So we either have 4th liner Brown playing on the 3rd line or we have a similar 4th liners in Boyce playing there. Either way, I think it's a partial downgrade even though he does give a little more crash and bang in the bottom 6.
Not a bad thing to have, but I don't really see him being a major impact.
