...a gaa around 1 and sv% .955, that was a good run for him.

I watched some of those games. He was good.

Brown has been sent home to Toronto for more tests - probably not a good sign that his injury is going to go away soon.

that is a bad thing it means more time for Rosehill, but on the other hand, it also means more time for some of the younger players

The Maple Leafs have placed forward Mike Brown on the injured reserve bringing the list of players to six.

Brown was sent home prior to the Leafs practice on Thursday with what the team is saying is a lower-body injury.

?We sent him back to be looked at by our doctors, I?m not sure what the prognosis is right now? said Head Coach Ron Wilson.
Brown has not played since November 15th in Leafs 3-2 shootout loss to Phoenix.

While the extent of the injury is not known,  it may have to with a groin injury which began to plague him in the second half of last season.  Brown had a procedure during the off-season to treat the injury and he missed a large chunk of training camp to deal with it.

.. the active roster is now at 22 players, which means the Leafs have room for another callup.

They will likely not change their roster tonight in Dallas and keep it the way it is.  If Darryl Boyce returns to Marlies action successfully from injury over in St. John?s, he?s a good candidate to be called up to play fourth line minutes.

Heard Eakins interviewed today. Didn't sound like Kadri had provided "the body of work" the Leafs are looking for prior to another call up. Eakins said that Naz has started to build that "body of work" by playing well the last couple of games.

I'm assuming the placement is retroactive, which means Brown is eligible to come off the IR as soon as tomorrow (he'd be eligible today, but, I'm pretty sure you can't be placed on and removed from the IR on the same day). Either the team is looking to bring someone up for Sunday or want to be able to not return someone to the Marlies when someone else returns.

Yeah, Grabovski may come off IR in the next few days.

Same lineup tonite as in tampa. Ron wilson says korbinian holzer isn't expected to play on the trip. Grabovski expected back on wednesday.

I think if Holzer ever attempted to gain Canadian citizenship, he should be required to legally change his name to Hozer.

First name "Eh"?

Is his name Kyle Turris?

Gunnarsson is obviousky the larger concern.

There really isn't anyone in the system that can fill his shoes. Steckel, while his faceoff skills are a nice luxury, isn't nearly as important.

Even though the Leafs can call up someone from Marlies (Zigomanis to replace Steckel for example), Marlies are in St. Johns, Newfoundland right now, so it means to get that player from Newfoundland to California which is not an easy task in like 24 hours.

Agreed. I hope we get some good news on that front.

#Leafs Gunnarsson and Steckel left the rink with bandages on fingers on their left hand; to be evaluated tomorrow

Both injured from trying to block shots.

Wilson said as much in his PC after the game.

Wilson said they would evaluate "tomorrow" (today).
