Leafs @ Jets - Jan. 2nd, 8:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Nice PP goal.

We need to come up with one or two more zone entry systems that have some chance of working. The "Matthews carries it in and immediately has it stripped from his stick" approach isn't very effective.

Switch Matthews and Nylander?s role on the entry. Then keep Matthews on the whole PP because he won?t have to skate as much.

I think the Engvall promotion is real now
Or another one of those temporary things. It was at about the same time in the 1st period that Keefe did that before. I wouldn't mind at all seeing what Engvall could do with some time on that line. He has that "would mesh well with JT" sort of feel to his game, and he's responsible enough defensively to go up against the opposition top lines.

It's basically one guy moving and everyone else standing still when they get to the blueline. Not sure how that is supposed to work.

Good idea, or let them take turns.

Engvall and Mikheyev are kind of the same in terms of how they've impacted the team and kind of game they play.

Why Nylander doesn't have a bigger role on zone entries there is beyond me.

When is Johnsson and Moore back?  I guess Goat and Marchment will be the odd guys out when that happens. Johnsson must be close no?

Kapanen really blew that.

Kapenen and Marincin great defensive work on that goal. Don't understand how you can't stand someone up at the blueline.
Dude that was the problem. Kapanen went for the check and was caught horribly out of position.

That?s just it. If you?re gonna step up at the line, you have to be absolutely sure you?re going to connect, or you?re going to get burned. Without the old clutch and grab, skaters are coming in too fast to go for the hit most of the time.

Moore is anyone's guess because concussions are totally unpredictable. He's not even practicing again so I would assume at least a week or two.

Johnsson I think they were guessing "end of January",
