Shoot it Kerfoot

He got excited being on an odd man rush when he could pass to someone other than Mikheyev
We all joke about him but maybe he should be put on the PP, at least he likes to shoot. Maybe lead to some scrambles and rebound goals.

Hey Craig, could those failed PPs come back to haunt them?  Could they?

I like that all of our broadcasts are the away feed on Sportsnet

They need someone who can get something to the net from the point.  It's not Rielly.  And it's not Marner.  Heck, let Matthews fire from there.

Can't stand Simpson.. Love his sister though.. She's awesome and clearly has all the talent. I do like Cuthbert though. Gord and Ray are the best.

Excellent period other than the wasted PP opportunities. Mind boggling how it can be so good as it was early in the year and so atrocious now. Oh well keep playing the way they did and they'll be fine.

Matthews is one option but I'd rather him down lower. Who else on the team has a good shot and is willing to use it...Spezza perhaps. He seems to have a knack for getting pucks to the net (plus is good at entries on the PP). Among the defenders...Muzzin? Not as good with the puck as Rielly but probably more willing to let it go.

They have Muzz, Holl who can bomb it..I would run with 5 forwards at this point.. Put Willy or Spezza back there. Only issue is a turnover because Spezza isn't the fastest

Putting Spezza on the top unit isn't a bad idea.

The Leafs PP doesn't want or need someone shooting the puck at the blue line. That's literally the least of Toronto's problems there.

I don?t want someone there shooting the puck but if you are going to be slow at moving the puck to the guys who do you better at least be a threat to shoot so that defenders aren?t cheating off to cover everyone else

Because it's working so well, right?

A shot threat from the point would open up other opportunities though I do agree there are plenty of other issues.

I said they need someone who can get it on net, and that's exactly what they need to break up the stagnation.  Get a tip, hop on a rebound, whatever ? put the play into unpredictability.

With all due respect to Anthony Stewart, he shouldn't really talk to a national audience about things he very much doesn't understand. If he wants to know how the Leafs could afford a big money forward at the deadline, I'm sure he can get a discount code for an Athletic sub.

Rielly might be struggling a little bit but there's still just simply no other defenceman on the team who's going to do those things better than him. You can make the case that the team needs another offensive defenceman on the team (nobody will like saying it, but there are ways the team misses Barrie even if letting him go was of course the right decision) but right now Mo just needs to keep working and figure it out. Like the other 4 guys on the unit. Matthews isn't going to stay off the PP scoresheet forever.
