Leafs @ Jets - May 14th, 8:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

I've been easy on him, but no more. It is time for Rielly to get off the power play. He had all the Leafs, including Nylander, collapsing on the net because they all expected him to shoot. And nothing. 10 seconds gone like that.

The play dies on his stick.  He either holds off on shooting or holds the puck too long before passing and it lets defenders cheat off him.  I would honestly rather have Sandin/Muzzin on the PP.

Sandin will be back game 1.. Hopefully on PP1

I don?t understand where they put Matthews on the PP.  he?s not in a good spot to shoot playing low along the boards.  Why is our best shooter in a low scoring position

On the 1st PP all 4 WPG skaters were drawn to Matthews.  Rielly was up top, no threat at all.  Nylander wasn't even in the camera picture on the right side.  They've got nothing.

Muzzin put 2 on net in 1/3d the time on the first PP.

You could claim it?s mental and some of the Rielly stuff I?m sure is but the setup is atrocious on the PP.  the number of pucks that go out of the zone because we fire pucks along the boards to no one is way too high as well.  The coaching is profoundly questionable.

Rielly is turning into Gardiner.
If his offence was stronger I might be able to forgive some of his defensive mistakes thinking of him as more of an extra forward but he's not that productive and he's not getting it done on the PP.
I'm not even sure I'd resign him when the contracts is up. Hopefully Sandin will be the new #1 by then.

Until this year Rielly's been a good offensive d-man.  But yeah, I wouldn't be averse to letting him go.
Yes, he's shown he can do better in the past.
He will have next season to turn it around and I'd be more than happy if he does.
Always liked him as a person.

What the hell is ONeill going on about Nylander on that play?  Nylander wasn?t in a position to back up Rielly on that play.  Two forwards below the has marks and Nylander in the middle of the zone just above them.  That?s entirely on Rielly to judge that it?s a bad pinch scenario because there isn?t a high forward ready to back him up

But he can run 220 yards nonstop.

It's on Rielly first but he's right..Nylander didn't react to Rielly going in..As the high forward he needs to recognize it and get back..So Willy gets a little blame even though it was a bad pinch.

I feel like they are waiting for the playoffs to breakout the secret weapon power play.

It makes sense to not give your opposition a whole week to study your powerplay.

At least I hope that is what's happening.

Again the set up is just bizarre.  Half the 5 guys are standing on spots where even before the puck comes to them they don?t have a chance of putting a good shot on net.  I don?t understand how you don?t know how to set guys up to get open with a man advantage

Not an inspiring final two games.

These games are so unbelievably meaningless that anything that happens on the ice that isn?t an injury is irrelevant
