Realistically it should not of counted IMO Kings player interfered with Bernier.

The Kings players didn't touch Bernier or get in his way until after the puck was in the net. Realistically, there was no reason for it to not count.

He was on top of his legs in the blue ice.

Obviously, not a great result, but, all things considered, a very good effort. Still some issues to work out, like the poor start they had tonight, but, still seeing a number of encouraging signs for the long-term success of this team.

Kings were something like 58% possession their last 15 games so, all in all, encouraging.

A hard fought loss. Good signs. No good bounces, but also couldn't manufacture grade A chances against a stingy LA Kings defense. There's a lot to be learned from this game.

By and large they played well (no bounces their way) but it is incomprehensible to me that Clarkson continues to get a spot on the PP. Both Santorelli and Winnik could play his role approximately 100x better.

Rielly with a few more useless fluttering wristshots today, capped off by a comical giveaway.

Yeah. More efforts like this, and the Leafs will see some real success. It may not happen this season, but, it's looking less and less like the core group really needs to be blown up.

Hasty, hasty, I caution.

Team's fixed, man.  A memo was circulated.

Can't really complain about the result. Kinks need to be ironed out, but I see a more aggressive team under Horachek that the team isn't rolling over and getting stomped on.

Is it me, or have the players been unable to stickhandle with the puck lately. Seems to either get away from them or it's being fumbled.

Hence the use of the phrase "looking less and less" rather than anything definitive.

EDIT: Also, not blowing up the core doesn't mean no changes need to be made. Just means less extreme changes need to be made.

Real change calls for explosions.  Big, booming ones.  Anything less is just pseudochange.

Hooogggglund!!!!!

(Shakes fist smiley)

Oh and the Kings really should offer Quick to some of the struggling teams, you have to think a team like the Oilers would offer a Kings ransom for him. [emoji57]

Jones looks like he's already better.

Outlined by a plethora of great skating plays that took the puck out of danger.

Much improved overall effort on all fronts.  The Leafs took the game to the Kings and kept up the pace.  They matched up well, taking and dishing out hits.

Now, as for the offence, I, too, noticed, try as they might and might as they try, they lacked the finishing touch, which at times, did make the puck look like it was rolling away.  Guess against a team like L.A, the Kings rush you, lean on you, to create 'traffic'... this game came down to inches, if not for Kings net minder Jones, the Leafs were close to a goal... (natch!) frustrating!  Maybe if Lupes was there.........

I enjoyed the game, I thought the team played well. I did find myself yelling at the TV during the PP "Shot the darn puck". The team needs to stop being pretty, and just shot and jam the net. Not happy with Reilly's play at the end.
