Leafs @ Kings - Mar. 13th, 10:30pm - TSN, SN 590

Sportclubstats stuff: Earlier in the fall, the Leafs odds of making the playoffs were 92%, dropped down to 17.26, and with this game, rose to 89.68%.

The Leafs have overcome huge adversity.  They have an offence that is a serious threat.  They have goaltending.  They have two defensemen in the top 30 for hits, blocked-shots, and unfortunately give-aways.  Four of the top 65 scoring defensemen are Leafs.  They're coached by someone who's won the Stanley Cup, and they might even get a two-time Cup winner, David Bolland back for the playoffs.

Good game for the boys after falling behind by two.

Heroic Shrimp- what kind of sauce are you putting on that hat?

Have to say that just from the highlights it sure looks like Leafs Nation was out in full force at the Staples Center last night.

Glad to see Reimer shut the door there. People were starting to forget that the guy carried us into the playoffs last season kicking and screaming.

That was a pretty nice sequence with the great pad save by Reimer on the PK, followed immediately by a 2-on-1 goal by Raymond. Glad the kings all stood around and watched Kopitar miss on the rebound. :)

According to this article by Chris Johnson, Bernier was dealing with that lower-body injury coming into the game. I know it was his first game back in LA, but why the heck do you let him play with an injury when you have a more than capable goalie in Reimer on the bench? I'd love to see Reimer get in more games, but not because Bernier is out long-term.

Kings had won 8 straight going into last night, had won 31 straight games in which they had held a 2-0 lead, and had trailed for only 42 seconds over their last 6 games (credit to @Randynumbers).

Man how much more useless can you get than Orr?  Played 2:58 and wasn't on the ice for a single shot attempt at the L.A. net.  Bodie, by contrast, played 6:48 and was on the ice for 9.  Basically went with 7 D and 10 forwards.

Just one shift in the 2nd period that lasted 2 seconds. Just one shift in the 3rd where he was on for 1:02. But hey, it worked!

I genuinely don't understand the point of dressing him.

People went on and on about the 'Muskoka Five' entitlement crap - how is this not just straight up entitlement to someone who provides nothing to the team?  Hasn't fought since January 10th and that was his only one since November 30.  So you can't argue that he's there for that purpose.

Has zero points.  Hasn't had a shot on goal in 9 games (January 21) and has 10 shots on goal in 47 games.  Hasn't had a point since March 23, 2013 and hasn't had a goal since February 11, 2013.

So really, who cares if Ashton hasn't scored when you're playing this steaming pile?  At least with Ashton you could argue he has scored at a good clip in the NHL's development league.  Embarrassing to keep dressing this player.

And it doesn't even matter if they're winning or not with him in the lineup, he has no impact on either result.  Makes much more sense to at least have a useful player there in case you need them.

Pleasant result to wake up to after going to bed after the second.  Good on Reimer to come in and play the way he did -- this is exactly when having two capable #1's works to the team's advantage.

The victory pretty much clinched the team's playoff spot.  Up 9 on Detroit.  To come out of California with 4 of 6 points is much better than probably most expected/hoped.  Now it's time to take at least 3 of 4 points in the next two and come back from this "tough/hellish" road trip having earned 7 of 10.

That comment certainly took me a little aback.

I don't recall them cherry-picking for breakaways very often at all.

It's a pretty idiotic comment considering JvR and Bozak are two of the better defensive forwards on the team.

Has anybody here had Gummi Hats?  They make them in the shape of bears, but they're actually little tiny hats, which is why I call them Gummi Hats.

What would he know.  Maybe because the Leafs usually score on the rush might have given that impression.  Lousy words from a great defenseman.
