I honestly don't think they need another unproven guy between the pipes.

If he's got a higher potential than the other unproven guy, sure we do.

But does he? That's the million dollar question. Wasn't Pogge supposed to have the greater potential when they traded Rask?

I'm pretty sure there was only one guy who thought that.

Pretty sure a certain amateur scout that played a part in making that decision is still making similar decisions with the Leafs.

I really hope this rumour was intentional, and has the intended effect of bringing down a certain asking price on a certain veteran goalie the Leafs need a lot more than Bernier.

I'm not sure if he does, but my point was if he does have more potential, then it's a deal worth making.

You mean the scouts who reported begged JFJ not to make that deal?

Is there room for all three of Bernier, Reimer, and Scrivens? I hope so because I'd sure like them to be able to sort out who's going to be better on their own.

I hope we dont go after Bernier we have two solid prospect goalies already, so why should we give up prospects to for yet another unproven goalie. if we are to give up somthing it has to be for a vet or we are taking a step back. let LA keep him, I like what we already have.

Sure, kind of.  It would create one helluva competition for sure which is what you want, right?  If Burke acquires nothing then Reimer & Scrivens are going to know they are in, and although I'm sure they will be working very hard to be ready, there won't be any pressure.

I think Scrivens gets a one-way deal and could still easily end up being sent down.  I will continue to go with Busty's theory that there is minimal chance he gets picked up if waived anyway, so you retain your 3 goalies.

I'd try to retain all three then although I still feel Bernier has the best chance of being better then all three but then again, that's my feeling and again, I really have no idea.

Bernier should be the best of the 3 but with goaltenders, who knows.. which is why if they got him I hope they keep the other 2 as well. I'm of the feeling you throw as many into the deep end as you can and see who swims and who sinks.  Never count on just one, no matter how proven he is.  If all 3 sink, then........ just bang your head on a desk for a while.

Yeah, I'm with you here... Regardless of what happens with Bernier, I think it's a good idea to have three guys who can play for you anyway.

You don't mean carrying 3 goalies on the NHL roster, do you?

I don't see why they wouldn't given Scrivens another year in the AHL anyway. I don't really think he has "nothing left to accomplish" there.

I wouldn't actually mind Bernier and Reimer as the tandem, then go with the hot hand.

No. I'm kind of hoping Scrivens gets a two-way.
