Leafs @ Oilers - Oct. 29th, 9:00pm - SN, SN 590

Kessel could have shot/scored there but went for the great set up instead.

And Rielly has deserved that.

Kessel's now 38th in career points as a Leaf, passing Todd Gill. (Credit to Mirtle)

EDIT: And as Mirtle says further - needs 3 goals to tie Doug Gilmour as a Leaf.

That seems so crazy to me. The Gilmour thing, not Gill.

Although at second glance, you said goals. Gilmour was more of an assist guy, so not AS crazy, I guess.

I've seen a few people suggest Kessel looks to pass a little more if he's got a goal or two in the game already.

Orr shoot the puck.
I keep hearing the Leafs are always getting out-shot.  Could it just be from the ice-time the fourth line gets?  If they managed two a piece, the shot total for the two teams would be tied right now.

Nothing to RNH for the slash as Franson was being brought to the box? I mean sure it doesn't matter at this point, but come on.

Cornerstone of the PP for a long time. You know few friends of mine laughed when Burke said they would've picked him first overall if they had the pick. He may just be the best of the class. Time will tell.

Reimer looks good positionally.

Honestly Kadri belongs on the first line.  I see the logic of having him on the second line so the Leafs have two scoring threats, but having him with Kessel and JVR such a potent combination.  If Randy insists on putting him back to the second line (he will), he's gotta find a way to get him 20 minutes a night.

Reilly looks totally poised.  His improvement over the course of the season thus far has been pretty incredible. He's going to be really good.

I'm such an idiot for thinking at one point that the Oilers rebuild was on the right track. What an atrocious team.

They have a lot of one type of player - the kind that doesn't play defence.

The concern I think is whether it leaves the 2nd line without enough scoring power.

But I want to at least see an experiment of Bozak playing with Lupul and Clarkson/Kulemin, because that could be a good line too.

I'm sorry, but Reimer gives up too many rebounds for me to praise him as much as Millen is.

As long as he keeps stopping enough pucks for the Leafs to win on a regular basis, does it really matter? Because, I mean, that's exactly what he's doing. He's making big saves, tough saves, somewhat acrobatic saves, etc. He's shown an ability to be able to handle the rebounds he gives up and keep the puck out of the net. That's all that really matters.
