Leafs @ Panthers - Jan. 26th, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Well, so much for Reimer's league-leading GAA.  In fact, "gaa" is the operative word here.

The Panthers are a pretty solid example of what the Leafs are trying to build. It took them a solid 5-7 years of being pretty bad, but they've put together a deep, talented roster that's just starting to mature.

The Luongo trade back to Florida really doesn't get mentioned enough in terms of lopsided trades. Panthers basically got a top-10 goalie for free.

Well, they're paying him 6.7 m for 2 more years after this one.

Phaneuf with the bonehead pinch there, gifting Florida with another 2 on 1 there. Our D has hung Reimer out to dry tonight.

I don't know what's more surprising - that the Leafs have no wins in 12 divisional games, or that the Leafs have only played 12 divisional games and it's almost February. I'm leaning toward the latter.

So on one hand, we suck.  On the other hand Montreal lost 5-2 to Columbus....twice....in two days.

I was at the game and it was perhaps even more one-sided than TV showed.

The Panthers speed against some of the Leafs defence  (especially Hunwick and Phaneuf) was particularly evident.

Reimer was really hung out to dry, but the last goal was Raycroftian.

I did see some of the Leafs players' fathers in the intermission, and they seemed a rather classy/proud group of parents.  (I am not sure if they will go out amongst the masses in the intermission in the game against Tampa Bay, though).

I think that Bozak was virtually invisible tonight, and has been for the past couple of weeks or so.

The turning point in the momentum in the game was at the start of the 2nd period when Phaneuf took the boarding call.  It was against the Panthers' fourth line.  It had nothing to do with the play.  And the goal that the Panthers got on the power play set the tone for the rest of the game, IMHO.

The defence pairing of Reilly and Hunwick should be broken up.  They don't seem to move the puck particularly well.

This is the end of mainly random observations without much consistency.  (Perhaps like Simmons?) :)

I haven't been able to catch games live lately, but it looked like a great night for the Tank to continue picking up momentum.

I've only seen some highlights, but from what I've remembered during this season, Holland on Kadri's wing seems like a pretty good mix out there. It's probably more a function of the small sample size, but the WOWY numbers have Holland at the top of the heap of forwards that Kadri does not regularly play with.
