Leafs @ Penguins - Dec. 16th, 7:00pm - SN, SN 590

This should be winnable.  Of course, the CHI game should have been losable.  Conclusion?  First tie game since the advent of the SO.

Don't know which team shows up tonight, but let's hope the win on Saturday supports a team turning things around.

will it be Dr. Jeckle or Mr. Hyde?  Hope they ice the same lines as Saturday and see if we can finally get some cohesion and chemistry that has been lacking since Bolland went down.

Sidney Crosby opens the scoring, then realizing he has no defense, plays keep-away for the rest of the game.  1-0 Pens.

We were complaining about players out due to injury and look at the Pens, they have a lot more wow.

It's insane. Their top 4 defensemen are all injured right now: Martin, Letang, Scuderi and Orpik. Then Engelland will be suspended. That leaves Niskanen as the lone regular that they had going into this season.

It's like the equivalent to the Leafs losing every defenseman except... Cody Franson or something.

But they do have a ton of young prospects that are doing a good job. They've got great depth at that position.

And then Malkin + Neal are out. So this game should be as good a chance as ever to get another win.
But if Pittsburgh was Toronto, Niskanen wouldn't get along with Carlyle because he's European and have been bought out.

Niskanen is American

Pittsburgh Penguins put Letang on reserve; Malkin also out vs Leafs bit.ly/1fyZHmP #hockey

Their starting d looks like a mess right now, if Leafs can't win this game it'll be because they played like utter crap.  Any type of good effort tonight and they should win this game.

Or The Bruins losing just Chara.

If we played the Bruins that is a trade I'd make:  The Leafs play without anyone but Franson in their top 6 and the Bruins play without Chara.  I think we come out on top.

Leafs win tonight which is a first round playoff preview. (I know it's way too early, but if the playoffs were right now...)

You know what though, the odds are looking pretty high that the Leafs will see one of Boston/Pittsburgh in the 1st round. So it very well could be.

That's what I'm afraid of. We need to move up in the standings.

Leafs 100% win record when watching on my new iPad. Let's make that 2-0-0 tonight!

That's a heckuva streak you've got going.

But I'll take anything.

As far as tonight goes....IMO, the Leafs come out thinking they are too good after Sat night and get spanked. This team is just too inconsistent to have 2 games in a row that good.  :-\

jonasTSN1050: Projected Lines vs. PIT: JVR-Kadri-Kessel. Raymond-Holland-Lupul. D'Amigo-McClement-Kulemin. McLaren-Smith-Bodie.

jonasTSN1050: Projected defence: Gunnarsson-Phaneuf. Gardiner-Franson. Liles-Rielly. Goaltender: Bernier.

Well, tonight looks like it might be a long night. Seems like the Leafs may have figured out how to play well at home but not so much on the road.
