Arizona's winning again. If they do and the Leafs lose, there will only be 4 point separating the two teams and the 4th overall pick going into the lottery becomes a real possibility.

The flip side is Columbus is really bad without BoboCop

What's the team record for most losses in a row?  Will this be 10?

10 is the record and ironically that was from the 1966-1967 cup winning season.

So you are saying there is a chance!

Thanks.  There will be no such irony this year.

They need to lose as many games as they can right now, before the inevitable climb back up the standings occurs, because you know it will happen.

One of the things to consider is that in previous years that sort of climb at the end happened because the Team was trying to actually do something or were at least playing for pride. If they dump a lot of players at the deadline for picks that would be a pretty demoralizing message to the rest of the team and you might see the slide continue.

I disagree. They will play for pride the last 20 or so games, especially if they trade off a lot of pieces at the deadline.

They'd still have 2 games in hand too, no?

I'm predicting it right now:

Leafs will make no significant trades leading up to or at the deadline.

Returns on those traded will be middling at best.

The circle of suck will continue.

You disagree with me saying something might happen?

Alright.

They're playing for pride now. How is that working out for them?

Booth was the best forward that period.  Drew a penalty going to the net and threw a hit.  That's about it.

Are they? I don't see any jump in their step. They have no pride whatsoever right now.

Santorelli centered the 4th line in the first, now starts the second as the first line center..... :o :o :o

If they can't find their pride after their play got their coach fired or to prevent a double digit losing streak, they're not going to find it when a number of their teammates are shipped out.

Listen. I hope you're right. I see them getting on a role after the deadline, maybe sooner. Trading some of their friends away will have way more  of an impact then their coach getting canned. Who would you rather see let go at your job, your boss or half the guys you work beside everyday?

I never understood why players aren't told to immediately go to the bench for a change after breaking a stick. I'd much rather play shorthanded for 10-15 seconds than have a guy skating around for an entire shift not being able to actually do anything.

Let's be honest here, though. Most of the guys that will be moved out are guys that they've only worked beside for a few months. We're not talking about guys they've developed long lasting bonds with.
