Leafs @ Predators - Mar. 19th, 8:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Nylander is wasted on the 2U, there is nothing there.  Yeah Atomic, maybe put Auston there, or else switch Nylander with Kadri, who's been an anchor all year on the 1U.

In any case, they aren't moving the puck fast enough on either unit once they do get set up.

I would put Nylander on the 1PP. Kadri does nothing to help it and I'd leave them in for 1:30 every pp.
 
Overall that was an ineffective low energy period.  I don?t know what it will take to get this team pissed off.

Muzzin came to us and looked great, now he is a bum, what is going on? Why doesn't our D have any confidence, why don't they slow the game down and take their time, why are they in panic mode all the time?  What are they going to do to Sandin when he arrives?  Not sure our D coach is the right guy. Sorry just saying.

I wouldn't keep anyone out for all 2 but Muzzin shouldn't be the next guy.  OTOH I don't think they have a choice unless and until Dermott or Gardiner or Rosen are available.

Muzz didn't get bad overnight. The more he got used to the system the more he regressed. The Leafs all do that pass to the middle of the ice all the time. The Leafs D game is bad because they've put a terrible plan in place.

Muzz was used as a shot from the point guy. Toronto doesn't have a pp that uses it. He's not a playmaker. They need to adjust, he's not Rielly.

Leafs cheat big on the breakouts. They need to keep things tighter in the gaps to help exits.

Agreed, maybe not now but I think that we need more of a Muzzin/Reilly pairing. But we're not worried about getting into the playoffs, so maybe Babcock switches things up in the playoffs? I'm kind of hoping he's like a 92/93 Cito Gaston. I hated his decisions in late September but he got his boys to play when it counted. I also bought a lottery ticket today.
