Leafs @ Red Wings - Feb. 1st, 7:30pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

I'll give them credit on the 2nd pp, at least Matthews going below the goal line with the puck made it more creative.

Wow that was a horrible period of hockey. By both teams.

The only thing that really bothered me though was the zero response by Gardiner or Dermott after de la Rose ran right through Andersen. Come on!

Not too surprising.

This is probably what we should have expected from two teams both coming off their breaks.

It is so BORING.

You're not into the thrill of being told every time Rielly does something on the right side of the ice?

I think there was maybe 1 or 2 good scoring chances combined by both teams.

Neither of them really even saw it, and by the time Dermott figured out what happened he started to go after him but de la Rose was skating away. What do you want him to do sucker-punch him from behind?

I?m watching the Detroit stream today.  I didn?t see a stick hold and neither did their announcers but I do enjoy the 50/50 penalty calling we consistently get

Good shift, Uber-line

Particularly Matthews dummying the whole Detroit squad like he did that time against team France in the World Championship.

I understand the concept of your PP being your enforcer, but when your PP has been dead for two months and you?re not bringing a corresponding physical element to offset the lack of PP success, you end up looking flat and uninterested while getting pushed around.

I know it?s easy to talk about compete level and hard work, but when things aren?t dropping for you offensively, you need to have other strings to your bow, the best teams always have this dig about them that makes them seem inevitable at times.

Aside from one or two third periods I haven?t seen that from this team.

Good adjustments on this PP to get the puck pinballing in the danger zone and using our feet to attack the space.
