Leafs @ Sabres - Mar. 15th, 7:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

They want to get a look at Johnnson and then he only plays one game of under 10 minutes, like c'mon.  Hopefully he draws back in against the pathetic Habs.  If he scores his first NHL goal against the Habs he'll immediately shoot into my good books.

Why don't they rest Marleau's old ass and get Grandpa ready for the playoffs and give Johnsson a few games with countryman Willbur.
He won't need the cryogenic tank between periods.

He currently has an active ironman streak* dating back to 2009. He's not coming out unless his leg is falling** has fallen off.

* The NHL games played count is a huge badge of honour amongst players (and team management). Outside of Stanley Cups, there's a tremendous respect for people who have played the game for as long as they have, especially those that never took much time off or played through ailments (as stupid as that might be). See the outcry against the suspension of Andrew Cogliano earlier this year.

What impressed me the most about Johnsson is that for a small guy he was great along the boards. Never gave up on a battle. Obviously tough to tell if he can do that over an 82-game season but it's still a good attribute to have.

Johnsson was noticeable.  He's described in his prospect profile as having good hands & vision as well as being a good stickhandler.

Not seen enough of him yet in his full role as a Leaf but judging by the Dallas game in which he played in, I liked what I saw.

Too bad he's a scratch for tonight"s matchup.

As always the Herminator informs and educates, Marleau is indestructible!  Must be the ice, I know it helps me with the Bacardi and Tonics

I think the unknown fighter pilot from the first Avengers movie said it best when he said:

"TARGET ANGRY!!!! TARGET ANGRY!!!!"

And you guys wanted to trade JVR.

*slinks off and pretends he wasn't on board for this

30 goals for JVR. Not bad.

Interesting he has twice as many goals as assists. Can't be a regular occurrence for a 30+ goal scorer?

I don't have any problem with Martin going in, but yeah like CTB sez it should be for Leivo.  This is a perfect time to assess Johnsson.

What I do have a problem with is getting our asses kicked all the time in Buffalo.  To quote a famous minor hockey coach, that's not coincidence, that's horse____.

If you don?t mind my asking, why don?t you have a problem with Martin playing?  I think it?s pretty clear that Martin is t an nhl caliber player.  There is not one good reason he should be on the roster, let alone taking away ice time from legitimate prospects.  I find it embarrassing for the leafs that they not only continue to have Martin on the roster, but that he actually still gets ice time.

Is it not possible that he may have to appear on the roster during the playoffs due to injury or other and that playing him every once in a while will maintain his preparedness (such as it is)?

Because it's against a bottom feeder and so I'm willing to have him out there in case BUF decides to get chippy.  But as I said, it should be for Leivo not Johnsson.  We know what he have in Leivo.

Missed the 1st ....  JVR scored twice??  Wow.

wouldn't mind of having O'Reilly a few years back, a very good player and of course loves crashing the net if there is a Tim's nearby.
