Well, they were due for a letdown. Hard to complain after six straight wins on a tough road trip.

I will say I'm not watching the game, so I have no idea what the two goals on Reimer were like, but for those that want to see him get more action, these are the opportunities he's got to grab.

A breakaway and a 2-on-1, one of which was a perfect shot off the post and in, after making a glove save on a breakaway in between.

I see. Hopefully he can settle in then. Still time to make a game of it ...

3 games in 4 nights....4 games in 6 nights, with do it to any team

So, you mean the exact same schedule that Dallas has dealt with this week?

They didn't have to contend with the refs.

I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but the refs have absolutely nothing to do with the result tonight, nor do they have any influence of the team's stamina. Also, do you really think the officiating was any better in any of Dallas' games? I mean, the baseline for NHL officiating is pretty poor.

They're at home! ::)

They haven't been the whole time, and, you didn't bring up the road trip, just the schedule. The Stars played every night the Leafs did. The fact that they're at home right now doesn't make up for the difference in effort between the two.

Don't want to discourage you from being so chatty.....but we've been jobbed by the refs quite a bit but I don't see it tonight esp when you have multiple 2 on 1's when on a freaking power play. This is just a steaming pile of doo-doo tonight.

By the tone of the tweets I'm getting there's great unhappiness to learn the Leafs will not end the season with 36 consecutive victories.

The Stars flashed a photo of Bieber's recent mugshot on the jumbotron and identified the disgraced musician as a "Maple Leafs Fan." The Stars then boasted about their excellent joke on Twitter.

That's kinda funny.

I wouldn't over-analyze this one.  Just a letdown game, pure and simple, aided by some fortunate tips on Dallas's side ... though the Stars completely deserve to be leading, much better than us.

The real key will be Saturday.  If they can respond with a good game, and even better pull out a win to go 3/4 on the road trip, then I'll be more than satisfied.

That's the rare insight we've come to expect from Cox.

Pretty much. Nothing wrong with a wake-up call.

Hopefully some sort of response starts in the third period tonight, to keep this one from getting biblical.

Really.  I always like to see who shows up when the game is already lost.
