Game Notes

TOR
?McElhinney (3-4-0, 2.78 GAA, .916 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?In an effort to save valuable time and resources, the NHL has announced this morning that the first goal Toronto scores tonight will be called back for goalie interference

DAL
?Ben Bishop (21-12-3, 2.42 GAA, .918 Sv%) will start for the Stars
?John Klingberg leads all defencemen in scoring with 48 points in 49 games. He actually has more assists than any other defenceman has points. This offensive dominance has earned him some talk about the Norris trophy
?The Stars top line has been very good this season, but all trail Klingberg in points. In 49 games Benn, Radulov, and Seguin have 47, 47, and 42 points respectively
?Speaking of Radulov, his 47 points this season is more than any Montreal player has. In fact, it's more than any Montreal player + Shea Weber has combined

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?Nikita Soshnikov - Groin - Injured Reserve
?Nikita Zaitsev - Lower Body - Injured Reserve
?Morgan Rielly - Arm - Injured Reserve
Code:

?Martin Hanzal - Lower Body - Questionable Thursday
?Marc Methot - Knee - Injured Reserve

A very prudent decision.

McElhinney's last game was December 20th. That was 36 days ago. We are on the back half of a back to back, after a 2 and a half hour flight between Chicago and Dallas.

So what you are saying, is that he will post a shut-out tonight. ;) 8)

Trolling the Habs in a Stars GDT?  I love you.

I agree, please don't ever stop with the Montreal references.  :D

I was honestly hoping to read that Calvin Pickard had been recalled for the game tonight, given how long McElhinney has been off. But in checking both the Marlies' roster and Leafs' roster, he doesn't appear on either.... so apparently I'm out of touch.  :-\

Praise be

Matt Martin out for a second game in a row? Never thought I'd see the day!

Another two points would be nice, but on the second half of a B2B I'm not expecting much.

GO LEAFS GO!

I think our young big three are back to themselves and we can expect better results going forward.

Just as important is the fact that we no longer have a second line that collectively produces approximately 0.05 points per game.

Easy tiger, progress for young guys is rarely linear, there will be some fairly dramatic peaks and valleys throughout the duration of their ELC's at least I think.

To use a Babcult term, they're figuring out how to be real gud pros every day.

A great name for his devoted followers!

Bishop sees Polak wind up and fire it 6 ft wide. Elects to glove it out there.

He chose wisely.
