Leafs trade Olli Jokinen to St. Louis Blues for a late pick

I liked Jokinen.  He gave an effort on the ice and didn't look like a player who was done.  I think he could be a valuable asset to St. Louis.  Go Blues....beat Nashville.

Maybe we were watching different players. He was trying hard, but he looked done to me. Maybe he can handle 5-8 mins a night where he's not expected to score at all. Maybe.

We all laugh at it right now...but that Jokinen OT point may be a big deal come the end of the season.  From here on in, it should be known as the "jokinen point".

At least Clarkson didn't score...he's a guy you can trust during a tank.

haven't confirmed the above yet ...

UFA at the end of the year. 31-year old who came over to North America this season but didn't pan out. Probably just included to even-up on contracts.

Here's St. Louis' current forward group:

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Schwartz-Lehtera-Tarasenko
Berglund-Stastny-Jaskin
Ott-Goc-Reaves

"Doesn't fit into their top-9" is quite the understatement. Can't see him really getting a chance on their 4th line either. I don't think that they have much on their farm team though so he's a good guy to have in the pressbox if injuries hit.

He's played 8 million regular season games in his career and only 6 playoff games.  It would be fitting if he won a cup and still never played another playoff game.  :D
