Is it wrong to be smiling at the likelihood of Detroit missing the playoffs?  If it is, I embrace it.  :)

This shouldn't be a huge a game, but it really is now.  Montreal and Tampa have both passed the Leafs, now.  Blargh.  Just friggin' win this one.

I'd actually prefer the Leafs to spare some energy here, they have two absolutely huge games coming up vs. Tampa (tomorrow) and the Habs (Sat). Detroit with all their injuries will evidently fall out of playoff contention so losing points to them is better than losing them to the aforementioned two teams. Would of course be nice to beat all three but with the two back-to-backs in a row I don't think that's too probable. Please just beat Tampa and Montreal in regulation and grab any spare points if they are offered by Detroit and NJ.

I am predicting 5 pts over the next three games. Book it

The problem I have with that thinking is that all those injured players could come back for Detroit and give them exactly the kind of boost they need to climb the standings.  Really, with games in hand, they're not that far back to begin with.

While all of us second-raters are jockeying for the right to be an underdog, the Bruins have won 9 straight.  :P
